I recently bought Mario + rabbids; Kingdom battle.
Bayonetta 3. I get why people say it's not as good as the first two. It's easier, and the summons are kind of a "win" button. But I'm still having a lot of fun with it
I finished that recently, agreed it's still quite a fun game. I have the whole trilogy for Switch.
I recently got Nintendo Switch Sports, sadly it's not 2006-2007 anymore so it's not really anything special. Playing it feels kind of nostalgic though.
my last recent game I bought weeks ago this month was Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II for my Nintendo Switch Lite. haven't played the game yet since I'm busy with other games at the moment but last year or so I was playing the game digitally for my X Box One S anyway playing the beginning part at the space mine in orbit
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. Played the original on the GameCube and loved it so am looking forward to playing this spruced up version again.
Bought and played: Pikmin 4. Great game. Very much recommended. Also a really impressive use of the Unreal Engine on the Switch. If no one told me it use UE: I would have just assumed it was an evolution of the Pikmin 3 engine.
I bought the second Mario+Rabbids game but haven't played it yet. It was on the backlog, It was on sale and I had credit from Christmas on my eShop account so why not.
@Litchie: Gotta disagree hard on that point.
Good that you like it. I look at that collection and I see very few good games that are worth to get. I see a lot of indie games, bad games, old games and games that are better on other platforms.
I have a PC, so I don't have any reason to get games that are on PC for Switch. Switch versions are worse and cost more.
@pokemonexpert45: Hey, don't let my opinions on stuff get you down. It's awesome that you think they're awesome. I personally prefer Nintendo's earlier consoles and libraries. Can't love everything..
That said, I don't regret having a Switch and some of its games. Played hundreds of hours on that thing.
@pokemonexpert45: Listing all the Switch games I've played sounds like a boring and time consuming thing to do. I'd rather not.
Can say that I've played all mainline Nintendo games, the Zeldas and Marios, which all vary from good to dissapointing to bad.
Mario Tennis and Golf were terribly lazy. Metroid Dread was just ok. Mario Odyssey was dissapointing. The absence of IPs like DK sucked. Not even a new Mario Kart. Etc.
Stating games are just inherently better on P.C. only really means anything when it comes to reconfigure settings to your set-up. Which by nature is something many console players don't want to deal with.
I play games on P.C. fairly often, however have found a vocal minority following on P.C. platform have to justify self-choices far too often while dissing the alternatives because they don't use them, this is very much a #cope issue. Just because you don't use it doesn't mean it serves no purpose.
Higher resolution and frames per second is a nice bonus however many the best games on Switch run smoothly and usually have simplified artstyles to work well on a handheld. Switch just like the 3DS is doing what it's doing very well and has a stellar library of games. No configurations on booting up, you just click the app and play the game. P.C. has a lot more steps on average.
Not long ago I saw someone say consoles have 'no good games'. Then when I list a few awesome games the following person stated 'those games are bad because they're not on P.C.' ???? Now tell me that doesn't sound like a five year-old??
What this out of touch group of P.C. gamers don't want to admit is they're not playing rig demanding games on average. They're playing retro or indie games with low requirements for the most part and that's just how it is. Most of which consoles can run with ease.
That love for retro games is amazing. What did you think of the Alex Kidd remake? didn't see many have takes on it on the forums at the time.

Yeah, personally I just don't see the point of using the Switch over my PC for games that are available for both. Settings, visuals, controls, performance, not to mention prices, is why I prefer PC for those games. Playing in handheld does not interest me much.

Depends on the game for me to complain about power of hardware or not. For games like Mario Odyssey, the graphics are great and the game runs smoothly. No complaints.
But for other games, both Zeldas included, it's a bit jarring when a game runs in 30 fps with dips to the 20s. I'd prefer them to scale the graphics back until the game runs smoothly on the hardware it's for instead of having those dips.

That sounds like either a confused moron or a troll.
What a lot of P.C. gamers don't want to admit is they're not playing rig demanding games at all. They're playing retro or indie games with low requirements for the most part and that's just how it is.
Yeah, maybe. I personally play a ton of indie games and non demanding games on PC and have no problem admitting that. Even those often benefit from more settings and powerful hardware. But I play a bunch of demanding games too, and those are the games I really need the better hardware for.
Likewise I'm a Gen Z baby but I just love old retro games. Something nice about how games was over today. I like a lot of modern games but the oldies have something special going on.
AKMW DX had some issues, they changed how the movement worked and it's a little looser and not as tight as the original. I think they added a mode to switch it but I never went back after completing. Also have a hard copy so I will revisit eventually. Was nice that Alex Kidd got a revival though. Was always a bigger Alex the Kidd fan than Sonic the Hedgehog personally.
Amazing, love a good chunky cartridge.

"Need" is a loose term.. Many new games that come out just run worse on everything because they're poorly optimized, P.C. can sometime brute force to get superior performance however can have mixed results. Fact is many games are rushed to release. Dragon's Dogma II being a good example: I like the game a lot but 3 months after release it performs completely different than it did on release. Monster Hunter Wilds will be no different, many forget but MHWorld did not perform out the gate well on anything, even a year later with the P.C. port the optimization was not well received.
Namely use my P.C. for games that use keyboard and mouse or work better with k&m such as Baldur's Gate III. Next time we get a really good FPS as well? it will be played on my P.C. for sure (hoping for a new Quake or Unreal personally)
Dismissing what other people use as a platform is gatekeeping mentality and I just never cared for it. That's what System-Wars is for, and why I never visit.
@RSM-HQ: Yeah, I actually sold off the vast majority of my old-school stuff at the start of last year but the Super Famicom is the one space-inefficient luxury I allow myself. It lets me live out all my childhood import gamer fantasies I accrued from reading magazines like EGM, GamePro, and Super Play as a kid.
What I like about the Switch is that it steers into that. It's tiny for a console, there's one very replaceable moving part that can go wrong, it's getting a ton of games from years gone by that we missed out on in North America, it's region-free, and the games store super-efficiently. It's literally everything I want a game console to be, which is ironic considering my well-documented feelings about Nintendo from the late 90s and the 00s.
I decided to get Sonic Origins Plus since it was $20.
I am admittedly pretty fond of the classic Sonic artwork. Looking through the art book and thinking back to the old days... Man, where did they go wrong? lol.
Well, I guess to some degree I know where they went wrong. It was the cartoon show. It was cool at the time being a kid, but it ruined the story and cast of the games. And as much as I did love the Archie Comics series of Sonic the Hedgehog, it was a disappointment that it chose to follow the cartoon rather than the original games.
I am really pleased with the collection because it has 1, 2, 3, Sonic & Knucks, annnd Sonic CD. I was pretty fond of Sonic CD back in the day, so it feels liberating to have them acknowledging it as being on the level with the other main games. And really, that was where most of the magic happened with the Sonic games back on the Genesis. I did have 3D Blast back in the day, but I understand why they didn't feel the need to include that.
I am curious about all of the Game Gear games. I never played GG as a kid, and some of them sound interesting. Especially the one starring Tails. (Tails was kind of always my favorite Sonic character.)
Will have to pick up Mania sometime too, since that also looks pretty awesome and has more of the stuff I like about Sonic.
I liked bits and pieces of the Adventure games, mainly the first one, but there's no denying that the magic of Sonic died out a bit in the move away from the classic series.
