What's the oldest retro system you own? How did you come across getting it?

The oldest retro system I own, is an Odyssey2...it was bought in 1978, which would make that system around 31 years old (!)

It was actually given to me by a neighbor...for free. It's complete too, and came with 5 complete games as well:

Alien Invaders--Plus!
Bowling!/Basketball!
Invaders from Hyperspace!
Showdown in 2100 A.D.
Speedway! / Spin-Out! / Crypto-Logic!

For some reason all Odyssey2 games had to have an exclamation point at the end of it's title. xD

My oldest thing is an NES. I found out a few years ago that my dad owned a 2600 before I was born, but he sold it to a friend.

My NEC T-16. It still works like a charm. Broke it out the other day to play Bonks Revenge and Victory Run.

That is bizarre that the games for the Odyssey 2 all had exclamation points after the title. :P I don't really have very many retro systems. v_v I wasn't allowed to play video games when I was younger. I have a genesis, but who knows if that thing still works (let alone, know where it is xD).

The oldest syste I own is an Atari VCS.It was called that before it was called the Atari 2600.That was in 1978.In 1981 I got an Atari 400 computer.I played Star Raiders on it forever. That game was very "state of the art" at time. The Infocom text adventures. were also super popular.EA made some good products in those days.Remember Hacker?

The oldest retro systems I own are a Japanese lauch Mega Drive and a Sony Hit Bit-F1XDJ MSX2+ computer system (see pic below). Both systems were manufactured in 1988.

I had a Atari 2600 (my first gaming system) but we got rid of it. I also had a Master System but we also got rid of it in favour of the Mega-Adapter.

Which your dad had when he was a kid? That makes me feel old and I'm only 23! I still have my NES from when I was a kid, granted I was like 6, so we got it just as the SNES was coming out.

I got an Atari 2600 for an early Christmas present for last year and I simply love it. It came with 10 games and I've bought several other games along with it.

So does that mean that your shmup teeth were cut on early shmups like River Raid and Chopper Command? :P

My earliest system is a tie between the 2600, Odyssey 2, Coleco Telstar Colortron (pong machine), and the Microvision (first cart-based handheld)

My NES.

I only go back to PS2 as I got rid of my N.E.S., S.N.E.S.,N64, and Apple2e computer a long ago.

roulettethedog

why would you do that?

My N64 is one of my favorite possesions... i would go on a rampage if someone broke it/stole it/sold it.

My oldest system is the Microvision. It's the very first handheld gaming system, predating the gameboy by several years. Unfortunately, the screen decays easily, so it doesn't have much life left in it :(

I still own the Atari 2600 that my parents had when I was born. I have about 20 games for it too. I still play it every now and then. They had some good games on that system. :)

The oldest was an Atari 2600, but that disappeared somewhere, so it's the original Game Boy.

My oldest I have is an NES, it was given to me as a gift when I was 4 years old in 1989. My parents had an Atari 2600, which might still be in the house somewhere, storage maybe.
