Zelda II -The Adventure of Link

so i dl'd Zelda II about 2 hours ago, great game. however i found traversing the 1st palace which i just completed to be a tad hard, does anyone have some good grinding spots they could recommend?

It's "Link's Adventure", not "Link's Awakening." Link's Awakening is the Gameboy Zelda.

And I do not recall any good grinding spots in the game, if there are any...

the game is extremrly hard I only was able to beat it much later

I've been playing this on NES recently, i just finished the second palace. You gain alot of xp from just playing through the story so by encountering some enemies along the way to the palace and inside the palaces you should level up often. Also, make sure if you are close to leveling up before placing the crystal after defeating a boss that you leave the palace and level up because placing a crystal levels you up.

i remember grinding a little bit, but i believe the enemies in the palaces were best. the over world enemies didn't give much. basically the more difficult the enemy the more xp.i think my grinding only occured about 3 or4 times in the whole game and even that was a matter of 5 or 10 minutes. this game was such a pain when i was a kid but i remember it was still alot of fun.
