As I type this I am eagerly awaiting the first of the Resident Evil Archives for the Wii to drop through my letterbox. Yes, it's a remake of a remake that I've played a bazillion times already, but this is Resident Evil, and there was no way on God's green earth that I was passing it up. My question is, when did your love affair with RE start, if at all? When did you first fall under the spell of rotting flesh, multi-appendaged perversions of nature and ethically dubious biotechnology experiments? For me, it was a demo of RE2 that came with an issue of the UK Official PlayStation Magazine, a little over ten years now. I was hooked. Shortly thereafter I picked up a copy of RE: Director's Cut and I've never looked back.

Dude I was there right from the beginning and let me tell you something: that game literally gave me nightmares and I physically had to stopped playing it because I was traumatize from the experience. A friend of my brother gave it to me because he said it was a huge hit in Japan when it came out. I was completely unprepared for the experience... it truly was a masterpiece of our time!

I consider RE4 to be the worst game I have played and I didn't like what I played of RE3 because of the controls. I guess you could file me as not having a love affair with Resident Evil.

I also have been there from the very begining, and have loved the series ever since. I remember the chills that would run up my spine as I heard the tapping noise made by the dogs walking, and very nervously looking around to try to find out where they were coming from.

I got started with the first game. Granted I was too scared to ever get very far in it, but I loved it anyway. Then I played RE2 and that game hooked me on the series for life.

RE2 was my first i played it when i was pretty young and it terrified me but i loved it i also loved 1 + 3 but 4 + 5 just weren't that good for me i liked the locked camera, small areas and tight hallways of the first games it made the atmosphere so much better.

Even though I had a friend bugging me to try out the original RE, my first experience didn't really happen until I saw the demo hidden away on the first Playstation Underground disc. It was actually footage from the infamous RE 1.5, but it was enough to convince me to try the series out. RE2 is still one of the better games I've ever played.Beat it pretty much every way you can beat it, except never managed to get through the Tofu scenario. And let me just say...Silent Hill is better *dashes out of thread*

ahh.... it all started out with Resident Evil Zero, I think. I just happened to pick it up one day on a whim. I was obsessed with finishing the game, and once I did I concluded that I absolutely loved it. I was eager to get Resident Evil GC remake and once I did... wow! It was so good, I knew I was going to be hooked into the RE universe for forever from then on. And since then, I've played all the games multiple times and am a huge fangirl of the series :P

oh, I thought I should add that I am currently replaying the entire series in chronological order!

I finished RE0 a couple weeks ago, then replayed the Umbrella Chronicle scenarious for it.

Finished RE1 last night, replayed the UC scenarios for that one including Rebecca's and Wesker's

And today I started RE3! Why 3 instead of 2 you might ask? Well because the first half of 3 takes place before 2 and then the second half takes place after 2! Lololololololololol chronology lolololololololololololol

Yup, I've gone through them in chronological order a few times as well. And once the Resident Evil Archives edition of RE 0 comes out, I'll be doing it all over again!

Agreed. The tapping of their claws on the ground, the 'where are they?!' feeling, the knowledge that even as you charged towards them they would be leaping for your throat - wonderful. And let's not forget when they first crashed through those first floor windows...

It started with the Resident Evil 3 demo on Dino Crisis. I played through Nemesis first and then played Resident Evil 2. Afterwards I got a copy of Resident Evil: Core Veronica X and Resident Evil 4. Those are the only games in the series I've played.
