Poll: What's Your Combat Style?

Are you a caster, or do you prefer to be swinging a sword and shield? Would you rather be at range, or do you rely on the powers of others?

Firearms always been.

Shoot anything that moves.

Melee is my favourite. Sword and shield is my preferred melee type.

All are cool in their own way, but if I had a choice, it'd be ranged combat.

no stealth... guess melee covers it

Combat Shaman / BattleMage / Mystic Knight, whatever you want to call it.

Leaning heavily on support magic, but primarily to boost my stats and/or allies' while lowering enemy defenses so I can go in and bash face along with my frontliners or solo if need be.

Depends on the game, but I usually go Melee for the first play through. Since it usually allows me to learn the game, and not have to focus on spell casting, etc. Then I usually play a Rogue/Ranger type, then finally a Mage.

Fast melee usually

Close range berserker.

I prefer mix of magic and melee.

Magic. Speed, barrage attacks, heal, manipulate, etc.

Combat is for amateurs who get caught.

Melee. However, in Dragon Age Origins due to balancing issues I played more as Morgan than my actual Warrior character. That is minority. I always play Warrior/Melee/Soldier.

Melee, always, I get my ranged action in shooters.

I usually like ranged / magic in games

Too much of a boss to do manual labor , so i summon shmucks to do my dirty work.

But seriously, I usually go with melee, and to a lesser degree ranged. I rarely go with magic and I don't think I've ever played a summoner before. Still all of them have a certain appeal and if the game's good I'll likely enjoy any of them.

A mix of ranged and melee.

definetly magic, all that critic attacks can be deadly with one shot.

Would be gurillia warfare, and a god doze of flanking, so would be Rogue, since it is not there, I suppose a mix of melee and ranged? ;)

Melee but when I actively played WoW I loved playing a warlock. It is my favorite class.

What a broad question with so narrow answer choices.

But my favorite combat style depends on the game/genre, is it a mmorpg like WoW then i its either as a tank or ranged, never been a big fan of magical combat. if it's a stealth based game i prefer close combat, right up to the target and kill them. If its a FPS like COd or BF4 it can vary depending on the map layout, sometimes i prefer ranged and other times melee

In RPGs: Melee weapons for close range and bows for long range; magic doesn't really interest me.

In stealth games: Guns, since they're usually available

In FPS and TPS games: Run n' gun obviously

For fantasy games with customization, magic swordsman.

If I have those choices, magic.

My personal choice is science and magic with martial arts like the Black Panther.

For Fantasy games, Magic and stealth definitely.

depends on the game , if it's a modern shooter plus stealth then sniper rifles , if the game is like witcher 3 , then magic and sword fight , don't like ranged weapons in this .

it actually depends on the combat situation, sometimes i'll run in and tank summoning a few minions, sometimes i'll hold back and pick them off, and other times i'll run in slinging spells or have a follower with my while i run support

Hm, I've always prefered swords over guns, bows and magic. I prefer Melee or like in Witcher and PoP, using awesome magic/signs and swords.

Any kind is good I guess.

Lets be honest, if medieval fantasy archetypes actually existed, wizards would rule the world hands down. So of course, magic.
