I must be a Original Gamespot User, I remember coming to it in 94-95 I thought. I differently remember that screen. Wow, its like looking at an LP or something, and to think that was only a little over 10 years ago.

That is pretty sweet right there. I've never seen anything other than what it is now.

It's amazing looking back. Glad there's a good service that archives the web. I was only about 6 when the site first launched.

Different site. GameSpot was acquired by CNET within the last7 years. Before that it was part of a different media company. GameCenter was CNET's previous game property. When GameSpot was subsumed, GameCenter was decommissioned.

Actually we were pretty early adopters. We used it when it was still PHP/FI. Also mod_perl. The original site that's archived there was powered by Lotus Notes believe it or not. -jsd- (no longer works for GameSpot)

I've been coming to gamespot since the late 90s, and my favorite look for the site has been the one right before the current layout. I was really sad to see it change - especially around the same time every other site I visited daily seemed to change its layout (newgrounds, penny-arcade, somethingawful, others i can't remember).

I created a topic similar to this a few months ago. I loved the 2004 layout for the site and have been on GameSpot since.

The good old gaming times. I want them back where it was cool to be a gamer.
