For those of you who for some reason still think Gamespot is not incredibly biased against Sony and the Playstation 3. Here are two recent things they have added....

Poll: Biased fanboyism aside, what do you think of the virtual community for the PlayStation 3 dubbed Home?

What the hell kind of title is that? Biased fanboyism aside? Gamespot never says that when asking about how much you love Halo 3, or how cool the Wii is, so why suddenly when there is a big annoucement for sony they have to add that blantantly biased line?

10 Things to make the PS3 Worth Buying

Once again, this article title is basically broadcasting that the Playstation 3 is not worth buying, I beg to differ Gamespot

Remember when they compared Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 games? When they compared Madden they changed the time of day on the PS3 one, so the sun was at a different angle and you couldn't see the stadium shadows... then complained that there were no stadium shadows in the PS3 version.

Sadly Gamespot has become a haven for the Sony hating fanboys, and I honestly don't see how that is any better than pro-Sony fanboys.. infact I think its worse. Bias has ruined this website, it was once the greatest gaming site on the net, now it is nothing but unintelligent Sony haters.

Whine, whine, whine. They are not biased, just stating the facts, and the fact is that right now Playstation 3 as a console is not on par with the other platforms. It is overly expensive, has a poor online service, and not that great of a game selection. And notice the aritcle isn't "10 reasons why the PS3 sucks" it is "10 things Sony should do to improve the console". Also, most of the games on the console have scored over a 7.5 meaning they are worth playing, is that being biased? It is not.

I think you need to factor in the number of peope who where just totally crazy about the ps3 before home was announced. There was nothing exclusive to the ps3 was better than any of the 360 exclusives. home is a really good idea, its sold the console for me (not at launch tho ill be waiting a while) but still, all the people going crazy about the ps3 before home where totally fanboys. Even if gamespot didnt mean it, it was just a comment made on a whim, its still totally justified, because out of all the consoles untill gdc this year, sony has been a total joke.

You know what? The PS3 really does need to do some things to make it a more appealing system, thus the article. :P

Everybody is entitled to their opinion of course, and mine just so happens to side with GameSpot on this one.  As it stands now I have no real desire to purchase a PS3, though I'm sure in time I will as it is another system to add some variety to my gameplay.

To be honest, it makes sense. The article is basically informing consumers about what is good about the PS3 right now, and what needs to be improved. I'd rather hear it straight up than to here some lies. Now, the article does bring up some points that are a bit touchy in the sense that they can swing either way. The article does have its place and does not yell bias. Right now, the main points that I see being brought up against the PS3 are: Price, lack of good games and Sony not showing complete respect to all consumers.

The Playstation has been my favorite console since the PSX. Not because of Sony, but because it's been the system that most of my favorite games have come out on. In other words I'm not a fanboy, but I've always been partial to the Playstation, and I still think this recent article on how to make the PS3 more appealing is well deserved and on point. I think what they're doing with Home is awesome, but they still have alot of work to do in other area's, as mentioned in the article.

The truth, in my opinion ofcourse, is every game journalist is sick of trying to back the new Playstation system. They trying to find a good thing about the PS3 and when Sony does talk about something, they reveal "HOME". WTF? I am with you on game journalists not favoring one system over another but enough is enough.

Gamespot makes a living on dishing out it's opinion on games and the industry in general. Right now their opinion is that the Sony PS3 is good but flawed. If you've actually read the article on the PS3 you can see that each editor provides a blanaced 'this is broke, but it could be great like this' approach. Is that a bias? I think not, merely the popular consensus amongst Gamespot editors at the moment.

If you think the PS3 is great, then good for you! However don't expect your view to be shared by the majority right now.

But why is it worth buying? If I own a 360 and a PS2 (so you can't use backwards compatibility as a reason) what does the PS3 offer that I can't get already?

Blu-Ray? Meh, I'm not excited to buy videos for $30-$40 dollars when I can watch a DVD for far less with not a heck of a lot of a picture loss (I only have a 720p tv).

Games? Resistance and Motorstorm do not warrant the purchase price. So, for me, it's not worth buying "right now". Could it be worthwhile in the future, sure, but I'm not buying a system now for "future potential". I'll buy it once that potential is reached.

This seems a little out of hand. GameSpot made an editorial about what needs to be done to improve the console. Isn't that what any fan of anything wants, to improve what they like? It's being looked at too hard here. Remember that multiple editors wrote each section, and that it was pretty much a "it would be better if..." statement, not flat out saying the PS3 should be abandoned.

overly expensive.... how much will it cost you to have that wonderfull xbox live service every year. add it up and your paying a rediculous price for 360 and online wether you have the big or small bundle.

It's pretty much the psychological block. Seeing the $600 price tag as one payment can cause people to be a little unhappy about having to give out that much all at once. While it's budgeted like with Xbox Live, it tends to be a little easier psychologically. With the one year XBL card, it's only $4.10 (about) a month.

I don't see this bias (if it does exist in the way you claim) effecting reviews yet though, which is the mainstay of the site in my opinion. If it comes to that point maybe there will be some legitimate complaints but... I haven't seen really any evidence of it.

i hate how the people look at the price tag of things and say it sucks...its what happens with PC gaming all the time. but...when i got this pc, my 360 is the first thing in line to be sold if i need money.
