Very well people. Those who own a Wii have probably played Super Mario Galaxy. Those who don't should hit themselves and get it NOW.
I am also quite sure that you have read the frontpage interview with the director of SMG by Gamespot. He mentioned that there will be another true Mario platformer, even though it won't be anymore on Wii. So my question would be: What should they do with it?
The biggest problem would be, off course, finding a kind of setting that would be at least as original as the space stuff. Not to mention that these settings need a hub of interest. Yeah, the setting would most certainly be a problem, as it will have to be better then SMG's to be accepted by gamers.
Gameplaywise, just stay with the core. Galaxy did it perfect. But once again, how to improve it? I would personally see that the fire power-up would last a bit longer. This way, the fire flower has been reduced to a puzzle solving key, instead of a weapon of serious ass-kicking. Now I fully agree that the game shouldn't become easy because of it. The timer was a fine solution. But there is just too little time to get to the fun part.
Any thoughts?
