So how many of you have gotten Disgaea 2 already?

I think overall it's an excellent (although strictly orthodox)update in gameplay, but not so great in story compared to the first one. And Adell looks to me like a rip-off of Vanessa from K.O.F.. he's my least favourite character of the Makai series

Not really into RPGs. Although I'll admit I haven't really explored the genre and therefore haven't effectively formed an opinion of them, as much as I want to.

They most probably will, that game has milkage written all over it. And I think they said it already in one of their mails.

The bad part is that like the other NIS games on the PSP it'll probably have a lot of loading times. But it sure beats not playing it at all.

I'm not planning on getting it. I borrowed Disgaea from a friend, and its sheer depth intimidated me to the degree that I ran away like a scared little girl. I think it was the point where I realized, "Every item has an item world. And in item world, you get items for completing battles. So that means..." I don't want to experience that again.

The weak of mind need not enter. 8) :P Yeah, I heard it takes awhile to get the hang off, and I'm for it, though. Hopefully I won't lose interest.

And it gets even more complicated now. In the first one in the item world all you had to do was to put all the geo panels in the same color board and put the null geo panel far from the rest. Now the geo panels have been updated.

Though you can now exit an item world and re-enter on the floor you left, in the first one you had to go straight 100 floors down to steal those legendary items.

It's not very difficult, it just requires strategy. This game totally reminds me of Advanced Wars for some reason.

Well NIS games don't exactly excell on the strategy side, you can pretty much power level your way through the game, and it's even encouraged.

The geo panels aren't hard, it just now requires a lot whole of time to clear them, and there are stages with no plain panels, so you need a Geo Master forcefully on those.

I don't think it's anything like advance wars though.

I think the bad thing is that NIS choosed to just update what was in the first Disgaea, and didn't used any of the improvements both Phantom Brave and Makai Kingdom bought to the table.

The item world was very exiting in the first Disgaea, but now it doesn't shines as bright even though it was updated very good.Makai Kingdom's random dungeons were far more addicting due to maniac item collection and stealing challenge.

The most amazing update is the Dark Assembly, it was one of the best features of the original, and now it has more depth than ever, with the cell phones, and items to get drunk or knock out the senators, hell you can even become a senator yourself. The felonies are also nice, but a pain in the ass to go and get them.

Your base is the lamest of the series though, and the item towns, aren't even towns.

Well, this is the first NIS game I have played. This game has actually made me enjoy RPGs. I really, really like this game so far. I think some of the strategical elements reminded me of AW, but they are't remotely the same. I'm still new to the game, so excuse my stupid question: the Dark Assembly is where you create more people for your party, correct?

I don't think it was actually supposed to be part of the first one...they mention it in the 2nd one? I don't remember it at all in the first one. I just remember using it a lot.
