I present...The GUFU Magazine

I was thinking, since everyone seems to be resistant to starting a GUFU related site outside of Gamespot, It got me thinking. Maybe there's something we can do outside of GS inside the Union itself.

I threw this together this morning, so it's definitely not the best looking cover ever. I got the idea from the Reviewer's Legion Union. They have their own virtual "Magazine" composed by the Union members. They all get together, plan out which articles they will write, add screenshots, and submit them to the Union Leader who posts them in one thread.

I was thinking of a similar format, but instead of a forum post, we create a PDF document and host it online somewhere. It wouldn't be too hard to do, and those skilled with Photoshop should find it pretty easy. It would take time, and dedication to put together something like that, but If you guys are willing to help out, then I am too.

Let me know what you think about the idea. Whether you think it's a good idea or it's crap. :P

I don't like a magazine, but how about a newsletter that we can send by mail to each member interested?

I'm kinda swamped at the moment too.

Any work I do will be in between classwork loads.

Well, the time it takes from planning to publication is uncertain at this point. We'd need to decide on a review format, features, News stories previews, etc. then decide what we're going to write about, edit, perform peer review, and then finally get it into a PDF file and then edit that. It would take us a little while. But if we have enough people working on it we could make it work.

Alright, here’s my ideas for issue one.

 Features

We all divide up the feature topics and write our impressions on the subject. Then we all submit them for peer review.

Issue 1 Features:

Sony Gamers Day event

Hands on with the Nintendo Wii at Nintendo Fusion Tour

Wii vs Playstation 3 launches

(Open for suggestions)

Previews

Well, you all know hoe this works. We gather screens, and write impressions of videos we can gather (that is until we get bigger and get some industry contacts) 

Issue 1 Previews:

Gears of War
Lair
Red Steel
Wii Sports

(Suggestions welcome)

Reviews

As suggested by BlazeDragon132, I was thinking we could have an EGM style review for each game, meaning 2 or three people play the game and give a short review and a score (although the format is still tentative and up for discussion) If not, I have a few reviews I can contribute.

Editorials

Since we aim to be as objective as possible when it comes to the News, Previews, Reviews, etc, personal opinions are often a big no no. Here’s an open forum for you to discuss whatever is on your mind. Think of it as your blog within the magazine.

Rumor Control

Here’s where we address the biggest rumors we happen to come across.
