A 32" Sharp AQUOS LC-32D42U LCD HDTV from Amazon, for $999.99 shipped (that $0.01 matters, dagnabbit!). It went "out of stock" yesterday, just hours before I placed my order (there was still one in stock yesterday morning; yesterday night it was out), but that could be a good thing; if I change my mind about it I can cancel it in the next 4 to 6 weeks. I was debating whether to get a 46" Samsung HL-S4676S DLP, a 37" Panasonic TH-37PX60U plasma, or this Sharp LCD, because I could get any of them for about $1,000 to $1,200 shipped. I settled on the 32D42U because the other two, even the 37", was just way too big, and I wanted a set I could use for my living room for now, and then move to my bedroom if I wanted to upgrade. Oh lordy, it's going to be a torturous month-long wait for this thing! :D

If you decide you can't wait that long, newegg has that TV in stock for the same price.

Not quite the same price. :( I have to pay an extra $50 in shipping and another $72 in taxes, and their warranty is FRICKIN' expensive. $180 for three years (four years if I include my American Express warranty). The Amazon warranty is only $120 for a 4-year warranty (5-year with Amex).

My HDTV is a CRT - its a 34 inch Sony VVega and is probably one of the heaviest TV ever made - i do not lie.  It's massive.  They are cheaper than LCD or Plasma tvs, and I think the picture quality is supposed to be better on CRTs.  The downside is that they are massive.

Woohoo! I have it! Fry's actually had it for cheaper than Amazon ($900 instead of $1000), so I canceled my Amazon order, went over to Fry's during my lunch break, bought it with a three-year warranty, took it home, and set it up. And couldn't get the video to work. :( It's probably just an initial setup thing. When I get home at the end of the day, I'll spend some time and actually set it up. It's HUGE, though. It really is true what they say. TVs look tiny in the store, but humongous in the home.
