My 360 is, in short, down right frustrating to play. Constant freezes, not reading brand new discs, and heating up my room like a furnace. Seriously, when I play Rock Band, I have to take off a couple layers to survive.

I called MS Support for the 13th time today and they finally said, "Okay, we believe you're 360 is broken. That'll be $110.00."

The person I talked to told me this was a symptom of the RROD, but not quite there yet. It was going to happen. Just not yet. Thanks for the warranty that only covers 1 problem, Microsoft. Well, it looks like I'm stuck with this heaper until it finally just RROD already and I can get it fixed for free...

Does anyone here have a 360 that hasn't caused them any problems? because I think I'm going to rob you.

Wow. Your console is having some major problems. I had my 360 for a year and a half now, and it still works fine, even though I get the occasional game freezing and the disc read errors from time to time. Also, my Xbox Live likes to log off by itself even though there's nothing wrong with my internet.

Smother your 360 and leave it on overnight. Guaranteed RRoD.

I'm going to have to jump on the "Force the RRoD" bandwagon here. If the 360 is as fragile as many would lead you to believe, it shouldn't be hard. :P

Yeah, I thought of inducing my own RROD before and decided to leave it as a last resort. But then my 360 froze during GTA 4.

Again :|

So now I'm going to heat this mofo up like it's no one's business.

Seriously. Wrap it in a towel with it on (NO GAME IN TRAY) and turn it upside down. The heat should weaken the solder on the heat sink and gravity will do its thing, crippling the system, and giving you one RRoD'd 360.

Well 2 hours in, music playing, GTA safely removed, and it's still going. This thing knows just how to piss me of. Anyway, I'll flip it over and give the whole night.

This is hilarious, I went to flip it over and noticed that the thing is working double-time to cool off, full jets on and it's louder than ever. How come it can't always have that cooling power? Minus the noise of course...

Yeah mine had issues, kept scratching discs and then the disc tray frequently got stuck. I got it sent of and replaced but I hear ya about the heat problem. I got a fan in my room that I always have to use when I turn my 60 on.

In that case, I am actually really glad that I have a more recent RRoD replacement, since I never experience the heat that Pele and Funny mention. I did on my first two boxes though. I hope You guys get better hardware out of MS soon, and I hope MS learned a worthwhile lesson about QA this gen....

You are describing my first 360. Mine RROD after several months of ****, before that it just froze 5 times a day.

My first (from sept 06) 360 froze more times in the first week than my launch PS2 did in 6 or so YEARS. But the new one I got is pretty nice, only frozen 2-3 times this year.

I had my 360 since launch. It's currently 2 years and 5 months old and it's still kicking :)

Hadn't had any problems except for a five console freeze in it's run of play-time dominance in my room :D

Well, I officially have the best 360 ever. It hasn't given in after a night of heat upside down. It's almost a shame that I have to RROD it to solve it's other problems...

I suggest wrapping a towel around the brick since people aren't intelligent enough to give it proper ventilation. If the brick don't have ventilation, it'll overheat causing the 360 to RRoD.

I question the possibility of a TOS violation in this thread by discussing how to break a 360 to get a free warranty. Might want to be careful guys.

I haven't even been home for 2 days. I see this thread has effectively hijacked :P

Incredibly, MS still refuses to set up an order. "Have you tried...." YES, YES I HAVE. LET ME SEND IT IN NOW. "Okay. But how about...." That just keeps going until either one of us get's bored. One more attempt today and then I'm marching down there.

Finally, triumph! The guy I got this time was probably the most helpful person I've ever talked to in any Microsoft department. Ever. Probably because he reminded me of a GS user; poking fun at Max, referring to it as the RROD, etc.
