My dreams may be coming true. At least my predictions seem to be.

Samsung is rumored to be buying webOS, taking it off the beleaguered shoulders of HP. Some of you may remember I predicted this was a very real possibility after Google's Motorola Mobile acquisition. Though some would dispute this, a little critical thinking would lead you to realize Google is now going with Apple's business model in the mobile world. With that being the case, Samsung and HTC have almost been left out to dry by their former partner, Google. It only makes sense that someone would try and snatch up the "other" mobile OS that never quite took off, but that has real, viable potential in the market.

My dreams of a Noka/MS vs Apple vs Google/Moto vs Samsung/webOS vs RIM world may be coming true. Props to Samsung if they go this route, choosing to actively protect themselves from MS, Apple, and now Google. Not everyone is going to survive, but assuming this all does come true -- who wins and who loses?

Smartphone news is both very current and relevant to our interests, as they have been taking over consoles and handhelds for most used gaming devices. Also, it's very current and relevant to our society and culture.

So, is WebOS cursed? Because it certainly almost destroyed Palm, until they were bought by HP and now HP is abandoning computer manufactering. Will Samsung follow the same fate?

The only quality experience I've ever had with smartphone gaming is the bootlegged version of Fruit Ninja on Android.

My friend has an Xperia Play though, and it's awesome.  SNES and PSX emulators are so good on it.

not many. at least in the US. they are however popular in europe.

and very popular in the corporate side.  This is there bread and butter. and if all else fails they can concentrate on that and at worse they could license it off.

Tell me Mac, what influence has Steve Jobs added on to gaming? He did work for Atari before forming Apple, but he did nothing to contribute to it.

I don't understand why your question is relevant. What does Steve Jobs have to do with anything?

It's called The Bait & Switch: When a claim is made and your opponent refutes it, don't try to respond, simply change the subject. A classical tactic when you have nothing relevant to add to the discussion. The best part about this from the left-wing debater's perspective is that since they never acknowledged they were wrong, they can feel free to make the exact same incorrect claim in future debates.

I'm debating on how do you think that mobile gaming (iPhone/iPod Touch) will take over dedicated handheld gaming. So, I brought up Steve Jobs and his gaming background.

That's irrelevant. That would be like conversing about the differences in Apple's customer service to that of Dell or HP, and someone saying, "Tell me Mac, what influence has Steve Jobs added to customer support?" As you can now clearly see, totally irrelevant.
