I finally bought this game (along with DQ8) yesterday. All I have to say is: Wow. This game is incredible, it has to be one of my favorite RPGs so far and I've only played for 1hr and 20min.
Well I don't know about it being the best, since it's more a dungeon crawler, but sure it's one of my faves from the last gen, and the story was truly great specially the parts for the Amala dungeons. You should try Shadow Hearts: Covenant which also has to be one of the best RPGS of last gen, and Digital Devil Saga 1+2 outdo Nocturne.

Funny thing is that happens to a lot of people, who wanted a game but hype beats them and end up getting some mainstream game instead that will probably be around for years and end up being cheaper player's choice later.
That's why a lot of people have missed on some games that have sky highed in price like Suikoden II,Valkyrie Profile, Disgaea, Panzer Dragoon Saga etc. and all of those were easily available when they were released.

I owned both...But DDS 1 sold for 120 for me^^ But Im keeping part two:P(I only need two to replay it really^^) I normally Sell some of my games...Like Noctoune...Yes 170:P(Honestly...I didnt like it too much) Disgaea...125:P(I sold it once I knew 2 was comming out)
Also selling to Europians is a great way to make money also^^

You're looking at one of those people right now. Or rather, I was once like that, but now I changed. But don't worry. I'll get around to all that stuff eventually. I'm not afraid to pay a lot. My pockets are deep enough to accomodate them.

I don't know if "best" counts, but Enchanted Arms has to be the most unique RPG I have ever played, the combat is FFT plus Pokemon. I am only 18% done and I have been playing for 11 hours! :(

Plus some stuff carries on to DDS2, more importantly you can start the game on hard without having to finish it first, and also fight the secret boss on your first playthrough

I just rented it. I'd give it an 8 on the weirdness scale. I guess I haven't played a JRPG in a while :?.
The thing with Atlus' RPGs is that is different from the norm. Normally you'd be trying to prevent the apocalypse, in these games the apocalypse already happened and you're trying to survive. I have one good reason FalconZero should get Nocturne, IT HAS DANTE NO JOKE!

Specially in Nocturne and the true demon ending, that's just not something you see in your common JRPG's.

Somewhere in a far away land, a little child just died.... :( And on topic, I wouldn't say Nocturne is the best RPG but a very good one nonetheless. The fact that it's challenging and actually requires you to keep switching out demons to look for weaknesses. I like the fact that you have to be strategic, not just look for the best in each category.

What is your problem man? Do you know how much that goes on ebay for and how long it took me to get that game at a reasonable price? Nocturne is very expensive and hard to find from what RPGamer told me as well.
