Ok so with TGS only around the corner I figured we could talk about it and what is likely to shown, what we hope is shown and what we are excited about.

Microsoft
We already know that Microsoft has two big hitters attending TGS in the form of Mistwalker's Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. The imact of these games will be huge it can't really be denied....but other than that...what have they got? Alot of people seem to think not much and that MS will just have a pretty bad showing baring those two titles. I can't say I personally agree with that.

Well for one thing Trusty Bell will be there, which seems like a quality tales-esque game with a sort of crazy concept. The we have the untitled Tri-Ace RPG that the head of Tri-Ace describes as their "best game ever" or something like that, so that should be pretty interesting. Resident Evil 5 will be shown in hopefully playable form for PS3 and X360, but even if not playable it will most likely be realtime this time and give us alot to look forward to.

Then of course there is Project Sylph which is a space shooter with dramatic story elements and cut scenes, being developed by GameArts (Grandia) and published by SquareEnix, although most people were hoping for an RPG from SE, this seems like it has the potential to be pretty good so I'll be interested to see how it turns out. Speaking of SE I think it's likely they will show their next gen MMO, which seems to be for X360, PS3 and PC, granted it could change platforms or be a no show althogether but we know it's being worked on so TGS seems a likely place to show it.

Then of course we will be seeing a near complete version of Lost Planet which should garner some attention, as those of you who played the demo already know it seems like a well crafted game with potential for greatness. There is also a possibility that Okamoto's Game Republic could show of the actiion game they are making for X360 being funded by MS. Although what to expect from that I have no idea, especially when their first 360 title was Everyparty and their first PS3 game is Genji 2.....but given that they will actually have a good budget this time it's possible this game could draw some attention. Winning Eleven will also be shown in a more final form than what we have seen. Virtua Tennis 3 I'm a fan of so I'm looking forward to it for X36/PS3.

It's also likely that X360 Gundam title will be shown, I think it's called "Operation Troy" now. And as we have seen from the recent media the game has improved alot from it's first unimpressive showing from last year. Vampire's Rain is also likely to show it's stuff for PS3 and X360 at TGS, especially considering we know pretty much nothing about the game. Speaking of mechs, Armoured Core 4 is likely to have a showing at TGS, although consiering that the PS3 and X360 versions seem to be somehwhat different games it's unknown if the 360 version will be shown, we know AC4 will be shown as a PS3 launch title so we can only assume it will be shown for 360 there too. DOAX2 is a pretty big title, especially in Japan where the original was Xbox's best selling game. Although don't expect anything on Ninja Gaiden 2 as TN like to focus on 1 game at a time and don't want to overshadow DOAX2. Most likely NG2 will be shown at E3 '07.

There are also a few unknown factors, such as Namco's "Tales of" teams RPG for the 360 that may or may not show, plus we know there will be a ton of budjet/smaller titles shown for all platforms, newly announced or unveiled games too. Should be interesting to see how Japanese support fares for the 360 given it's unpopularity in Japan but either way I think MS will have a pretty good showing. Most likely won't "win" it, but still have a good show.

Sony
With all the negative press surrounding the PS3 and the fact that we still haven't really gotten a chance to see most games in action, let alone in playable form Sony has alot prove. But luckily they seem to have their act together in that regard with 27 PS3 titles on show. A good portion of which are playable.

People in the west are no doubt excited to see the likes of Lair and Heavenly Sword, and Resistance although considering this is a Japan centric show and most PS3 launch/early titles seem to be western made it's unknown how well these games will go down in Japan. Either way we will get to see them and find out new info and that's all that matters.

Armoured Core 4 will be shown as a Japanese launch title and the game has a very dedicated following so it should get some attention. As well as the PS3 Gundam title which is looking pretty good at the moment. Resident Evil 5 and DMC4 will both be shown for the first time in realtime, and they are pretty big titles so it should be really exciting to see. I don't know about anyone else but I'm interested to see what Fifth Phantom Saga turns out like considering we haven't seen anything since E305, could it turn out to actually be good? Who know but I'm interested to find out.

Fatal Enertia from Koei will be on shown and although most people are underwhelmed graphically it could tunr out to be the next Wipeout in terms of gameplay. They should also be showcasing Ni-Oh so it will be very interesting to see what it turns out like. Tekken 6 should be shown in hopefully better form than the early E3'06 version we saw, Tekken makes some waves so I think alot of people want to see what the final product looks like.

Virtua Fighter 5 seems to be pregressing well and definatly has the most hardcore following of any game ever in Japan. It will certainly make some waves. Virtua Tennis 3 should be on show too for X360 and PS3 and I'm a big fan of that series so I want to see what they have in store. Speaking of SEGA I wonder if they will show Golden Axe they are working on for 360 and PS3?, I'd definatly want to see that.

We know that MGS4 will be shown in playable form for the first time, which is really exciting as this is pretty much PS3's biggest title, I'm really looking forward to seeing it in action and seeing what new features Kojima has given us to play with.

As was recently confirmed Final Fantasy XIII will be shown in trailer form, and games in Japan don't really get much bigger than a FF title. Also FFXIII Versus will be shown in trailer form also, although if it will just be pure CG or have any realtime elements to it we have no idea. Should be good to see though and is a strong showing of support from Square Enix for PS3. Also as I said earlier it's likely that SE may show their new MMO for next gen consoles and PC which should be interesting. Vampires Rain should also be doing the rounds on PS3/X360.

Plus I'm sure there are plenty more titles lined up, or to be announced at the show. Should be really entertaining....Sony are being tight lipped about PS3 in general so it's difficult to find out much more than what I have posted. But I do have something to let you ponder about....did anyone else notice the extreme lack of Japanese developed games at E3 for PS3/360? I get the feeling both MS and Sony are holding off until TGS to make a big splash...they both seem to be hiding something...I could be totally wrong but it's just the feeling I got.

As for Nintendo, they don't attend TGS so I don't really know what to say about them other than the fact that some 3rd parties will likely be showing off some Wii titles, hopefully some stuff on the Capcom developed ones should be shown as well as stuff from Sega is likely.

Those will likely be the big hitters, although I find it hard to beleive you wouldn't be even slightly interested in some of the other great titles on show.

The meat of TGS will be Sony info for me. 360 at TGS and X06 will be a bonus before the month is out.

Yeah I tried hard to put as much information on upcomming games and their possible impact as I could. I don't think you'll find another list as comprehensive as this one on forums. Pitty the thread is pretty much dead now....

Pardon my ignorance, but what are "Blue Dragon" and "Lost Odyssey"? I've never heard of them on System Wars or anything... Am I missing something?

About Nintendo, they will be showing their (fine, very fine) wares at their own dedicated conference on September 14th. They will reveal all about Wii, and show more games, and should reveal further details about the Virtual Console (hopefully 3rd party support for it) and WiiConnect24. Wii is certainly the most exciting console at the moment.

LO and BD are the two rpg's currently in development at Mistwalker Studios, which is run by Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of the Final Fantasy series. Blue Dragon is being developed by the team that created the Chrono games.

Yeah, to give you a little more info, the music for both games is being composed by Nobuo Uematsu (FF composer). Blue Dragon's artwork is done by Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball, Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger) and the game involves characters who suddenly gained the ability to transform their shadows into creatures for fighting. Lost Odyssey is about a man who has lived for 1000 years and cannot die. He doesn't know why this is happening, Sakaguchi brought in a famous Japanese novelist to help give the game's story depth, he is working on all of the back stories for Kaim who has many famies and friends in his 1000 year life span. Character designs are by the guy who did the Vagabond manga. Both games will use a turn based battle system but apparantly will mesh elements of different styles with some brand new things to make battle systems that are unique and interesting. I'm starting to wonder about something though, judging by most people's resposes in this thread I'm getting the feeling that almosts nobody actually bothered to read this thread other than a select few.....

Well Blue Dragon is launching in Japan in December so in a way this will be it's true unveiling in proper playable form. The only trailer we have is from a December 05 build and it doesn't show that much stuff. As for Lost Odyssey, Sakaguchi had originally planned to release a demo in summer/august so that demo will most likely be playable at TGS. And with the info that TGS will be steamed on market place just like E3 this is great news, downloading a Lost Odyssey demo would be one of the best things ever. Might need a Japanese silver account though.

I love the Final Fantasy soundtracks, they always rock. I have some of them on MP3. I mean... no I dont... I'll most certainly be looking out for those two, and Chrono Trigger as well.

LO and BD are the two rpg's currently in development at Mistwalker Studios, which is run by Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of the Final Fantasy series. Blue Dragon is being developed by the team that created the Chrono games.

Ah. That would explain why they are a big deal. I'll have to remember them.

I'm mostly interested in LO right now, since EA seems like a damn let down, and I need my jrpg goodness. Other than that, I hope they show some GG:AC footage or somethin.

That sounds awesome. I hope we get more information come TGS.

Sounds good. I just hope more and more great JRPGS are made for the 360.

Enchanted Arms is alot better than many reviewers say also, I am shocked on how unique the battle system is. Think SJRPG + Pokemon + FF Puzzles = EA
