Actually, one of the guy went to the "Ask the Mod" forums and ask one of the mods to take it down. Yeah it did get out of hand but I don't see what the point is in banning all of us that posted in there! For 3 to 7 days, SW was pretty much dead. The only ones posting in SW were the n00bs and fakeboys.

E2ESQUARE was the one that made a thread about the porn suicide in the Ask the Mods section.
Appearently you get modded for keeping the thread alive since you are bumping it.

Alex Navarro is one of the people who works at Gamespot, so I wouldn't want them to lose their power (alghough removing Greg Kasavin from the reviewers doesn't sound like a bad idea)
Hmm, I don't think they should have banned everyone who posted in there. Just the people who kept the conversations alive and the thread going. I can see this as a serious trouble for gamspot, obviously. Though banning every single person is a bit too far IMO. I bet there was a lot of new comers that were just like "wtf, I thought this was a clean site?" and then got suspended. I would just ban all the people that actually started conversations not just left one post. But then again, one post does encourage another.

You have to blow the mods while having them sign a written consent form to get on the waiting list that will take you the thread where you want to post.Â
Once you get there you can only use vowels, and "q" because it's rarely used.Â
If you decide using other fourty or so keys on your keyboard, it's no holds barred for the moderators who will probably ban you.Â

In all seriousness the only reason you could get suspended is because Gamespot doesn't want to be seen as a playground for insults, harassment, or porn. Instead it's a playground for insults, harassment, and ignorance. Oh haha look at that two of them are the same.  Open forum for discussion? My ass. Whenever a site this large with a forum the size of System Wars thinks it can regulate behavior, over the interenet, with no serious penalty, it's fooling itself.Â
Most of the people who come to Gamespot are going to porn sites and eBaums already, and if Gamespot really wanted to stop porn suicides and all the rest they would only have to ask the community politely and take an indifferent approach. Then you would just look like a jackass if you started posting porn.
