Really good news for ps3 owners , there isn't very many good RPGS for the system in the early going. They are adding some content and hopefully they can add some polish on the technical side of things.

That good news for people who haven't played it yet, and is a great title to have at launch. It was a tab bit overrated for my tastes though....

same with Assassins Creed when it was only announced for the ps3 at the time , this is typical from all of the fanboy factions. I myself don't care , but many cows will be jumping for joy so i am happy for them.

Yay for more multiplats. Anyone else concerned that more and more games are becoming multiplat and that being the case, could adversly affect the quality of the game?  Exclusives are getting less and less common and they tend to be the better games (at least for the most part because they can focus their resources on one project)

Well, with Assassin's Creed, lemmings were always saying it would come to 360. I don't know many who were saying it would flop.

Doesn't really apply though because DMC hadn't been announced for 360 just yet.

Also, this may help PS3 in Japan if Bathesda finally localizes it for them.  They never made Oblivion available to Japanese consumers despite them expressing interest in it.   C'mon Bathesda, we know you want more $$$ :P

It applies in the same way. DMC4 rumors started popping up of it going to 360 fans and 360 fans were jumping for joy. Doesn't apply now does it?

We are talking about the fanboys here , many have said they didn't care for the game either way and said it just looked like a Prince of Persia ripoff .

Some regions haven't been able to play it due to language barriers.

Too bad it won't support HDR and AA at the same time. As well as a number of other possible graphical downgrades. All speculation clearly, but I'm not expecting much of this.

I'm expecting at least a smoother frame rate because of the Cell, and better load times because of them being able to use more space if they want to. It will likely look exactly like the 360 version since the game doesn't use overly powerful specs (compared to what the 360 and PS3 house).

Well I hope that they will try to make the engine stream the data instead of like now loading it all into the RAM in bursts.

Jetpower3, to elaborate on the HDR and AA:
It's amazing how strong this SW rumour, created by Red Cloak, has become. It's true that RSX and the other nVidia G7x GPUs can't do HDR and AA at the same time as these two functions share the same logic and bandwidth.
But here's the thing, when rendering a frame the HDR and AA aren't done at the same time, the AA is applied afterwards. AA and HDR can't be done at the same clock cycle but there's 500M-550M cycles per sec split between up to 60frames.
On a PC GPU it's hard to divide this logic as the game has to run on different GPUs but with PS3 being a closed system the devs can balance the bandwidth and processing power after their needs.

Also there's several different ways of doing HDR and AA, especially on consoles because they aren't limited by API (they can do more than DX10 cards, when looking away from share processing power), and these ways have the "same" quality but bogs the hardware in different ways. Ex nAo at B3D invented NAO32 which on the cost of processing power uses less bandwidth leaving more bandwidth to the frame-buffer for  full screen AA.

It reminds me a bit about the confusion after it became known that the PS3 can't transmit Wi-Fi and Blue-tooth data at the same time. :)

It's a upgraded port of the mobile game, though, not the console one.

LOL, I wish that I had enough knowledge about this to go in-depth. :)

But this thread at B3D should be a good re-cap of the main differences and NAO32's advantages/disadvantages:

It will be interesting to see how it compares to the 360 version graphically. But I doubt it will get the same score.

In all honesty I (poor mony less guy) would much rather have Fable2 as I had much more fun with the original Fable than I had with Morrowind.

VonGak: I've always wanted to ask someone this, but how do FP10, FP16, and NAO32 differ from each other?mjarantilla

FP10, FP16, and FP32 refer to a more "standard" way of performing HDR rendering using an API like DirectX. The 'FP' part means that floating point numbers are used (as opposed to integers, which are basically whole numbers), and the number refers to the amount of bits used to store each color component of a pixel. See on computers when you work with pixels, you generally store each pixel as 4 values: the red component, the green component, the blue component, and the alpha (transparency) component. So if you're using FP16, then each pixel is 4 x 16 ( 64 ) bits. FP32 would mean 4 x 32 ( 128 ) bits. This is very nice since the floating points and the high bit-depth means that you can have a lot of precision and contrast in your lighting, but it also means that your frame buffer is going to get very big (especially if you've got FSAA going too). A 720p game with FP16 color and 4xAA requires 28 MB of GPU memory, which can consume a whole lot space and bandwidth.

So anyway, now you have some devs like Ninja Theory using what they call NAO32. According to these devs, the RGB format isn't actually a very efficient way to store HDR data. Instead, they use a color space called CIE Luv which is a derivative of the CIE XYZ colorspace. This means that they aren't storing pxiels in the frame buffer as red, blue, and green values. Instead they store the "lightness" of the pixel, how its position between magenta and green, and its position between yellow and blue. To convert RGB into this color space, they have to use one of the RSX's pixel shaders to do the calculation. However this also means that in the end they only need 32 bits of memory for each pixel, cutting your frame buffer memory requirements in half compared to FP16. So its basically a trade-off between GPU memory and shaders.
