When I woke up this morning, I had to make sure that Japan still
existed. Why? Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are out. We knew that the DS
was a big deal in Japan, but we never would have guessed just how big
this launch would be.

It looks like the rumors about DS production have been true.
Nintendo has been stockpiling DS units for the past month, and they’ve
been using almost all of their factories to pump out Pokemon
cartridges. They still didn’t have enough to satisfy the Japanese.

According to a couple of sources, all two million copies of the two
games sold out. Nintendo has also supposedly sold 500,000 DS Lite
systems, including the special Pokemon edition of the system. We’re
still waiting on official confirmation, but we wouldn’t be surprised at
all if this is true.

Lets just say...Wow is all. Sold 500k systems and completely sold out of all 2million copies...I feel bad for Nintendo not being able to make enough. Even 2million copies could hold the crowds down

And this is the Pokemon we all know everyone has been waiting for. Includes Online battles!!!

And Even better...Dragon Quest Joker(Very similar to Pokemon) Is comming out shortly also...Will we have another huge explosion?

Damn, that's crazy. I think this pretty much confirms the PSP hasn't a hope of ever catching up to the DS.

Wow, the PSP doesn't have much chance in Japan, between Brain Games, Animal Crossing, and now Pokemon.

And Here is another fine Example of Fanboy in here

We are all Fanboys^^ There isnt a real manticore...Some of us admit and move on...Some of us go into denial about it. Im a sheep and I do get enjoyment from this:P So Of course Im bias to Nintendo. But like I said, Some of us admit it and move on:P

This is huge news in terms of game sales...but since Im Partial to Nintendo...All the more sweeter now isnt it?

I know me Too...Finally bring them online to battle. I love the set up also. They have 3 types. One is where you go online with what your pokemon at thier current lvl...Powerlvl or power down to lvl 50...or powerlvl to 100. So even if you dont have 6 lvl 100 you can use 6 lvl 100s online if the people agree

Also they have like a forum type thing were you can put up pokemon and such

Like I said...Some are in denial and some arent^^ And I have a feeling your in favor of Sony is why your taking offensive to this. Have to get over it now. There difference is even though I favor Nintendo...Im not going to be stupid about favoring them either...Im not going to say Wii Will Win...Honeslty 360 has the most appealing games for me right now

Ive been saying Cube has been dead since after SSBM...Go Ahead^^ Doesnt mean anything about the quality of the system or the games.
I think the Xbox was a piece of Trash, Cube was 1step away from being a paper weight...And PS2 was Godly:P

Look what happened in that thread you brought up . It turned into a mess and had to be locked and things spilled over onto the IRC and things around here are getting stupid and everyone is up in arms about it .

Nope, I can't say that I ever noticed that one. But it's true that I hold PS3 and PSP in high regards (even though I don't own either) mainly due to those having my prefered gaming franchises and partly because of the technolegy freak in me. :) Am I mistaken when I say that this board was created due to SW having become too much about claiming ownage and lacking substance in the debates? I left because too many people claimed other systems to be dead based on numbers out of context and doctored concept art for games mixed with blind hate towards console brands. Many in SW find it impossible to say anything positive about games on other than their prefered platform (unless it's part of bashing a 3'rd console brand). NB: Sorry about spelling and typos but I don't have time to re-read my post. :)

The reason system wars is so bad is because people do not accept themselves being fanboys...Everyone is partial to another systems. The same applies here. People arent going to change just because its a different forum. Its all a game of logic now.

And do you think you ideal now? Im sure I can find comments you said in here before that are bias^^ Why not just take this and just say..."Good Job Nintendo. Your crushing your compeition...Hopefully PSP will be able to come out with a game on par"

Its very hypocritical dont you think to be sitting here and complianing to me...Yet There are about half a dozen comments that go unnotice which are no better^^

Remember, I was not involved in that little bad fanboy fight you guys had. So I really dont know what you are talking about. but I still look around and see all these stupid comments here and there. And I do know why he is pushing it also.

A lot of people were saying this was the final nail in the PSPs coffin. I'd have to disagree with them, but this will definately boost DS sales, when we all thought they couldn't be selling any faster than they already were. A lot of fanboys think Pokemon is a shallow game due to it's "kiddy" image, but they couldn't be more wrong. Once you get into the hardcore battles between real people, you realize that Pokemon, suprisingly, is one of the deepest and most challenging RPGs ever made. I would go into detail to explain why, but that would take a long time. When is the game coming out in NA?

I don't get why Pokemon games are still so big. I loved Red/Blue, but those were the last ones I enjoyed, Yellow was cool too, all the others just felt like slightly enhanced graphics with different places to do the same thing..

:lol: I love that.

As crazy as those numbers are, I'm not surprised. The popularity of Pokemon in the US is pretty huge, the fact that Japan likes it many times more isn't shocking to me.
