It's possible, but I doubt it, and let me give you my reasons for thinking so. SE generally plans out which game goes to which platform far ahead of time, and they rarely waver. Kojima has said he would like to keep MGS4 exclusive to the Playstation 3. My guess is DMC4. Capcom has been putting a lot of development effort toward the 360 lately. Also, they have wavered in the past - RE4 was supposed to be a GC exclusive. Finally, the other big name Capcom game - RE5 - is multiplat for 360 and PS3. My guess is DMC4 will follow suit.My guess? Either FFXIII or MGS4.
Those are the only two that pop out as Mega Exclusives.

MGS4 is possible, but Kojima has said he wants to keep it exclusive, we might see a remixed/re release or something though. My guess? Either FFXIII or MGS4.

DMC4 or Kingdom hearts 3 are real possibilities, thoughBuryMeKH III would be my other guess, since it's not as much of a long-running, established "Sony franchise" as the numbered FF's are.

I'm really not liking all of this multi-platform stuff that's going on lately...I want games to be the best they can be, and that means developing them specifically for one system. I don't mind buying all 3 just to play the exclusives if they're better games for it. If it ends up that MGS4 goes to the 360, I hope that its far enough along that the 360 version is pretty much a port of the PS3 version. (Sorry if that sounds selfish to my 360-owning friends, but I don't like compromises made for the sake of cross-platform development).TeufelhuhnI know what you mean. Some games just don't seem right as multiplatform games because they would be better off utilizing the potential of one particular console instead.

I truely and deeply hope that it is, my reason being, I don't like those games. You may be asking why I want a game I dont like on my syste of choice, but that is because if it is FF13 or MGS4, I won't be able to justify buying a PS3. Its just TOO MUCH MONEY for one game series that I truely have interest in. If MGS comes over to 360, then I dont get FF13, and if FF13 comes over, No MGS for matt. But if DMC comes over, I'm happy cause I get both games. I know i have skewed logic, I just don't careMy guess? Either FFXIII or MGS4.

Um, Devil May Cry or Final Fantasy. I dout MGS4 will go over very much, but I aint to sure about the other two franchises.
Probably either Devil May Cry 4 or Metal Gear Solid 4.
Capcom are already supporting the 360 with Lost Planet and Dead Rising and since they want to do away with future exclusive games, I think we could see a port. Plus I read somewhere that Devil May Cry 4 was using the Lost Planet graphics engine - I could be wrong but that could maybe make a port quite easy?
My reasoning for Metal Gear Solid 4 is a plain and simple business move by Konami. Kojima may not want his prized series appearing on any console other than one with the words 'Play' and 'Station', but it's quite rare that the game director has the last word in which platform it comes to. With increasing development costs, I reckon Konami are feeling the heat on whether the PS3s somewhat limited userbase will be enough to justify a profit. One report has said that Namco Bandai needs to sell 500,000 copies of their games to make a profit - and those numbers are for a game which costs just over $8 million to make. Think of how much Metal Gear Solid 4 will cost in the end, how many PS3 owners will exist when it comes out and finally what the attach rate (or sales) will be like.
I could be wrong with Metal Gear Solid 4 since that game is a true "killer-app" which will likely sell consoles, but Devil May Cry 4 seems very likely. I highly doubt Final Fantasy XIII will come to Xbox 360 since Square-Enix are obviously in competition with Mistwalker, and by the 2008 release date PlayStation 3 will have more than enough units out there to meet the game sales demand.Â
Well lets remeber that RE4 was a gamecube exclusive. It was stated as one but still came to the PS2.
If a game says exclusive then it does not mean port possibility is dead.
@ -Spock- I read the Lost Planet engine comment too over at Playsyde. If that's the case, Lost Planet could easily be ported over to the PS3, but it seems Capcom would rather keep 360 games exclusive and make former exclusives multiplat for them if this is how the situation pans out :roll:And MGS4 would need to be completely reworked to be ported over to another console in it's current state. It's supposed to make use of the PSP connectivity, SIXAXIS, and the Cell so that would be more money spent trying to port when Konami is trying to make money :| Kojima himself doesn't want to waste the time or resources on a port because he's trying to break away from the MGS Universe and working on a port at that for an unintended system would leave a sour taste for his last MGS game (supposedly).
And I don't why Konami is concerning themselves at this point. A lot of PS fans / MGS fans I've talked to are waiting for MGS4 to release before picking up a PS3 and by then, the number of consoles out should be good enough for them, or they alone will help sell consoles. Announcing it being multiplatform would ruin that case for many.
-Zaku-
Of coarse Lost Planet could be ported over to PS3, even Capcom are considering that.
"We will try to keep it as a 360 exclusive," Takeuchi said. "But, from the company's point of view, when you think about the business, in the future it's something we might have to do."
I have read about Capcom's future plans of ditching exclusive titles after Devil May Cry 4, but considering the time frame until its release, a port could indeed be feasible. Lost Planet comes out in January, so it is pretty much complete. I don't think they would bother trying to port a finished game unless it's met with lacklustre sales like Takeuchi stated (but after the announcement of 1 million Lost Planet downloads over XBL and the past success of Dead Rising on the platform, I don't see a failure arising). It sucks yes, but we'll have to wait and see since this is all purely speculation.
As for Metal Gear Solid 4, it is even less likely to arrive on the 360 than DMC4. You mention the Cell which the game is built from the ground up for, yet in a past IGN interview Kojima claimed the Xbox 360 could handle it power-wise. The only problem he sees is a capacity problem (the advantage of Blu-Ray) but multi-discs aren't completely out of the question - Metal Gear Solid came on two discs due to the linearity. I don't think a port is completely out of the question: a small team can easily be set aside to do this like what Tecmo are doing with Ninja Gaiden: Sigma. That means Kojima doesn't need to be bothered with the port while he works on his Wii project.
PSP connectivity can be removed since it plays no essential role in the game and SIXAXIS features can also be stripped and replaced with rumble. It would detract from the experience yes, but a feature trade off could work. I do agree with you though that Konami would need to spend money to reconfigure it on the 360 due to very different architecture, but with the potential of a future 15 million Xbox 360 users, it could be a "spend money to make money" situation.
The final point I should make is that I doubt it would be released at the same time. Like Virtua Fighter 5 it would have to be released later than the PS3 version, and an announcement of going multi-format would come after it had been on PS3 for a while. If MGS4 did come to the 360, it would be in 2008 at the earliest, or as a subsequent part of the reduxed version every Metal Gear Solid has undergone starting with Integral and ending with Subsistence.
This is 100% Sony's fault. They are losing so much because they are trying to push their disk format. They are caring more about that than the Playstation line. Because of that Sony is killing Playstation.

FFXIII I don't see as likely, just the way SE are and the fact that their main market in Japan and all that, this seems the most unlikely so unlikely infact that I think the universe would implode in this actually happened.Ryujin_Xlol...true. If FFXIII went to 360 cows would become extinct. They're already on the endangered species list. You're not allowed to hunt them at Yellowstone.

FFXII is my guess.linkhero1FFXII? The PS2 game?. I'm guessing you mean FFXIII, 13 for those that fail at roman numerals. :p As I stated earlier, I highly doubt that, in fact thats the one game that I would think is nearly impossible to come to the 360. For the reasons I stated earlier.

Its the worst one ever. The only games that are preventing me from quiting gaming are FFXIII, FFVSXIII, Fallout 3, Shin Megami Tensei ("inserts random title") and Ninja Gaiden 2.

This may be the greatest console generation ever.WeeWeeJumboTrue, the 360 is kicking any Sega console (besides DC) and the original XB. Wii is a totally new thing, it looks like it can be revolutionary like N64. PS3 is looking average right now, but Blu-Ray might lead to some great games. RPG devs need to step up with PS3.
