Mine:

1) Metal Gear Solid 2: The Sons of Liberty

For being the first iteration of Metal Gear Solid on the Playstation 2. As much as I criticize it, I still love it.

2) Final Fantasy X

For a memorable story, classic gameplay, and gorgeous production values.

3) Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

For fun gameplay, great style, Ray Liotta, hilarious characters, fun soundtrack, and hands down my favorite GTA.

4) Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

For a memorable story, the Boss, and amazing boss fights.

5) Ninja Gaiden

For being, hands down, the most fun action game I've ever played.

1)Halo 2:
Due to the rapid pacing of the story and knowing both sides, the Humans and Covenants stories you can tell a lot of stories about it. It was action packed.

2)Okami
Extremely unique and a fanciful storytelling. It mixes Japanese mythology and popular Japanese caligraphic art and tells a well paced story.

3)Halo
Addicting... nuff said :P

4)Resident Evil 4
It's fun and a change of pace to the game finally gets rid of the sluggish feeling that started to make the series fail after Resident Evil 2.

5)Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 (Xbox)
Simple... it's Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 :P

Okay, this looks like fun.  :D

5.  Halo (Xbox)

Yeah I know, this series gets an awful lot of crap for being casual or whatever and a lot of PC FPS "purists" will claim this game to be "console trash".  But let me tell you:  I play PC FPS games all the time, and I still love this game.  Yup, I said it.  The campaign is epic, the weapons are awesome, and its absolutely a blast to play on a LAN with your friends.

4.  Resident Evil 4 (GCN)

Absolutely the pinnacle of action gameplay this past generation.  This game took the RE series and stripped down, replacing the campy horror-movie pacing with adrenaline-pumping, zombie-blasting action.  Maybe its just me, but there's just nothing in the world thats quite like blasting a zombie (excuse me, Ganado) with a shotgun at close range and then suplexing his buddy down the stairs.

3.  Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)

I don't remember ever feeling as emotional as I did at the end of SotC when playing every other game.  Its been criticized for being short and repetitive, but for me it evolved my perception of games.  The storytelling and visuals can only be regarded as art, which I feel is a huge step forward for the world of gaming.

2.  Half-Life 2 (PC)

The original Half-Life stands as one of the greatest PC games of all time, and HL2 managed to one-up its predecessor in almost every way.  I'll never forget the first time I played through the opening sequence of the game, or how the game made me feel like I'd walked into some Orwellian nightmare.  HL2 also introduced the FPS genre to the world of physics-based gameplay with the gravity gun, one of the most simple yet ingenious innovations the genre has ever seen.  HL2 and its upcoming episodes will continue to set the standard for cinema-quality production in games.

1.  Metroid Prime (GCN)

The Metroid series has had a special place in my heart ever since I first explored the world of Zebes back on my NES, and I was quite worried when Nintendo announced that they were going with an FPS viewpoint and an unknown American developer for the first entry in the series since Super Metroid.  However all of my worries vanished as soon as I played 10 minutes of this game.  This game took immersion to a new level with its creative level design, excellent graphics, and moody soundtrack.

Runners Up

Ninja Gaiden - Xbox
Katamari Damacy - PS2
Zelda: WW - GCN
MGS2 - PS2

1)Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner(PS2)
It is simply the best Mech game out there, and it really showed everyone how sequals should be done.

2)Jet Set Radio Future(Xbox)
The soundtrack in this game is reason enough to love it, but when you combine that with awesome gameplay and taging. Well you have a winner right there.

3) Kingdom Hearts 2(PS2)
This was one of my favorite Action RPGs from last gen even if it was too easy. The story itself is worth the price of admission, and seeing all my favorite Square and Disney characters fighting sde by side is just too cool.

4)
Super Smash Bros: Melee(NGC)
This is hands down the best mutiplayer game ever! I've never had a better time then sitting down with 3 of my friends and beating the crap out of each other with our favorite Nintendo characters.

5)Resident Evil 4(NGC)
This game not only re-invented the Resident Evil series, it re-invented the action game genre as well. This game has so many OMG! moments and is just one huge adrenaline rush from start to finish.

1) Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

For being one of the most fun games I've played, amazing lighting/graphics for it's time, the GREATEST co-op play ever.

2) Halo

A fun story-line, you can pick it up and play it without getting bored of it, good dificulty settings and great 8 person teams CTF at 2 AM

3) Fable

This game really suprised me with how addicting it was, with adventurous quests and humorous touches, this game made me go the the store and buy it immidiately.

4) Shadow Of The Colossus

I love the artistic touch on this, along with the gameplay, the controls and the story were just enjoyable.

5) SOCOM: US Navy Seals

I love the way this game lays out, the graphics fit everything nicly and the gameplay kept me at it for hours. One of my favorite war games.

5 games... Let's see what I can do...

5. Halo 2. The online multiplayer is just unparalleled, both in ease of use and in flat-out fun. At this point, it's not any good, but I got hundreds of hours of enjoyment before it really got overrun with cheaters and griefers.

4. Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. I'd put Snake Eater, but Subsistence is better in every way. I've beaten this game 3 times, and I'm really impressed at how Kojima basically improved on just about everything that was wrong with Metal Gear Solid 2. The gameplay is much more open, with a lot more freedom, the boss fights (particularly against The Boss and The End) are fantastic, and the story isn't mired in countless subplots and codec conversations. A true masterpiece.

3. ICO. The gameplay is simplistic, and the game itself is downright short, but the story, or more specifically, how it was told, has not been matched by any game this generation, including Shadow of the Colossus. Yorda and Ico forever!

2. Half-Life 2. Like few other games have this generation, this one exudes quality from every pore, dripping atmosphere as you explore the transformed European city-turned-alien-controlled-settlement City 17. The gravity gun is fun, the storytelling is great (especially the facial expressions), and the game, with all its bizarre structures and dilapadated houses, feels extremely real. And I hate headcrabs. A lot.

1. Ninja Gaiden: Black. Perhaps I'm biased because I'm playing it right now (I'm near the end of chapter 15, and I hate Ghost Fish), but it seems almost too good to be real, a current-gen game that feels like a next-gen game. The graphics are amazing, but the combat engine is even moreso, with unprecedented depth and punishing difficulty. The game constantly ups the scale and difficulty of its encounters, as it upgrades the arsenal you have to fight them with. It's nearly perfect in every way.

Honorable Mentions
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3- simply the best extreme sports game ever.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time- a wonderfully told story with fantastic platforming, only bogged down by repetitive combat.
Shadow of the Colossus- There's nothing quite like it.
Phantom Dust- I have more hours logged in it, according to the game, than is physically possible. Thanks, Xbox Live!

1) Okami- The blend of artstyle is amazing and the gameplay reminds you of Zelda. 2) Halo:CE- Many people think of 2, but Halo:CE made a huge impact on gaming. The gameplay still remains the best FPS on a console. 3) Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker- Let us face it, the cartoonish look is beatiful. The gameplay remains true to the series and adds alot of new elements to it also 4) Kingdom Hearts II- This is this a sequal to probably my 5th choice, but I will stick with just one. Not only did it blend two of my loves: FF and Disney, but it does it with a great story and design. The gameplay is great and pulling off attacks is smooth.
5) Guitar Hero- Let us be straight forward, the music genre was dead since Parappa. This revives it and let us fufil our fantasy. The soundtrack is mostly good (except Sum 41 and The Donnas). The buttons are easy to see and the backgrounds are fun to watch. This one is a gem

1. Zone Of The Enders 2: 2nd Runner
-We Just Have to catch The sun...To Hold it in our Hands.
The first thing you notice when playing the game is the Great Theme Song(Beyond the bounds)...The Entire Track is a mix of Tencho, JPOP, and Classical. Then after getting over how great that is...You notice the game looks absolutely breathtaking with its lighting effects and details...And Once the fighting Starts...You just can not get over it

2. Socom
-You know what...This proves a game can be incridible because it has the best online out there. There was a reason why Socom was man handelling Xbox Live Alone for its first year...A Reason why Socom owned all the records till Hype 2 came out^^

3. Dynasty Warriors 2
-If you do not like this game...Then you must like not any. Simple. This was easily the best launch game I have ever gottan from any system. Just a random hack and slash...Yet the best one

4. DMC3 SE
-Easily the best action game of this gen. Doesnt need to be on the most powerful system to still look dam good. And one of the few actions games that was all about Style and not just learning a combo to beat some...This game was all about flow

5. Tales of Symphonia
-Best RPG of this gen...Sure FFX and such looked better. But they sure were not as fun.

Honorable mentions
-FFX2, DMC, Gundam Fed Vs Zeon, Kotor,

I didn't like it for two reasons. One was that the battle system felt too fast-paced to be strategic, without really being rewarding. There was a whole grid system that didn't seem to make sense, because using it took up so much time.

The other was that it felt really gimmicky and had a really different tone from the previous games, at least in the beginning. It was just too out-there. When Brother said, "Yuna, you must dance! Our sanity depends on it!", I just stopped playing right there. It felt all wrong.

1) Halo: Combat Evolved- Well, I this was my favorite game for obvious reasons, it revolutionized the FPS genre on consoles, and LAN basically owned. People say the story is cliched, but I have to say it wasn't cliched: it was done well, and I enjoyed it. Master Chief has, in my opinion, become a major icon in the gaming industry, perhaps above Snake and other influential game characters. This was the number one reason to buy an Xbox; and it was the only reason I bought an Xbox. 2) Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater- This was my first game into the MGS series. I have to say, it was absolutely breath taking. I have never played a game as emotional as MGS3, the last boss battle was the most amazing thing I have every seen in a game. The setting was fabulous, and I actually enjoyed it...even on the aged PS2. 3) Ninja Gaiden Black- This game is the king of its genre, its difficulty and style really made it stand out from other games. It was flat out: Fun, I enjoyed it immensely. 4) Resident Evil 4- This was also the first game I played in the series. The production value for this game was superb. The gameplay was over the top, and it was a bit more difficult than your average shooter. This game also looked fantastic, the setting was eerie and realistic, in a sense. Although, more could have been done: especially with the cliched ending, it was a fantastic game that really deserves a spot on my top five list. 5) Metroid Prime- I have to say, a year ago, I hated this game. I couldn't get over the fact that Metroid went 3D and FP. I found the gameplay boring and just lame. Well, I've been playing it the past two days, and it is incredible. I think I was too bitter about it going in FP and 3D. But really, this game is incredible, the atmosphere in it is not found in many games. HONORABLE MENTIONS: Final Fantasy X Splinter Cell Chaos Theory Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes SMT: Nocturne KOTOR Ikaruga Doom 3 (yes, I said it) Halo 2 GTA VC/SA Disgaea 2 _________________________________
