I was reading JetPower3's thread about that George Harrison song "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and Teufelhun, I beleive mentioned that George Harrison was one of his favourite Guitarists. So I thought I'd find out who everyone's favourit guitarist is.
Mine's AC/DC's Angus Young, for his sheer awesomeness on stage and in solo's. My favourite live performance is ACDC live at Donington in 1991, as part of the Monsters of Rock tour. I have it on DVD, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to watch an intense live rock show. But seeing as Im now talking about live shows as well as guitarists, I'd also like to mention that with out exception, Rammsteins "Live Aus Berlin" in 1998 is the most crazy show I have ever seen. If you like pyrotechnics, watch this show.

Dimebag Darrell, rest his soul, of Pantera, Damageplan and Rebel Meets Rebel and Daron Malakian of System of a Down.

You just can't match the level of intensity Dimebag offers in metal and metal/country. Try playing "Cowboys From Hell" and you'll know why it's one of the most toughest songs to play. I can't even pull it off!

Daron is an innovator, he creates new sounds and new ways to match the guitar with Serj Tankian's vocals. A fine example would be the entire album of "Hypnotize" and "Mezmerize." With his quick fingers on the fret, Daron knows no limit to continue pushing the style to another level.

Hmmm...thats a hard question...

I already mentioned George Harrison, and Eric Clapton is another personal favorite.  I'm also a big fan of Elliot Easton from The Cars, and Angus Young from ACDC.

I also really like Matthew Bellamy from Muse, and Adam Jones from Tool.  Both of those guys create beautiful sounds and textures with their guitars.

Lol, Joe Satriani! I didnt realise he was big.... I picked up an album of his "Not of this earth" for $5 AUD, in the bargain bins at the music store - he's very talented.

I'm suprised no-one has said Slash. I mean, in Sweet Child of Mine, and at the end of November Rain, Slash really kicks some arse.
