Around a year and half ago you could get a data plan for 30 or 40 bucks a month with 3GB to 6 GB of data. Not I seen the rates and there going up like crazy around 60 bucks a month for 500MB. What is going on here.

Yeah, they're pretty bad. That's why I go prepaid on a little carrier and have a wifi only iPad. I forgo having data on the go, but I'm trying to prove a point - not that it matters given how many people just pay for crazy expensive data plans anyway.

Same. I just use a prepaid carrier($50 unlimited everything), and just combo my cheap android with a itouch.

I'm happy I got grandfathered into my unlimited plan at Verizon. I am thinking of switching to Sprint later this year, $79.99 unlimited plus taxes is a good deal.

Yeah I can see them owning half of the market when they go big.

Tmobile gives you that for $50 and Boostmobile does it for $35-40.

I pay $25 a month for unlimited talk and text. All of my friends have data except for me but I've realized that about 90% of my city has wifi already. So paying for data is really a waste...

In Canada, that's the norm, and the only reason why I'm on Rogers is because it's between them, Bell or Telus for an iPhone 4S. Otherwise, my internet is with Teksavvy and my family has no cable.

I wish I could afford an iPhone plan. But until prices go down (if ever) I am stuck on virgin mobile for $25 per month.

The strangest part is that they are going against the law of economics.. so we get it that Wifi's have reduced the number of cellphone internet users but that should make the Companies decrease the rates and increase the service ... apparently they are giving all the more reason to switch to wifi permanently!!

You can't switch to wifi permanently because if you buy a smart phone you MUST purchase a data plan to along with it, so it's a trap.
