If true it's a bold move saying that all of their touch devices are inferior when it comes to controls
I mean years of the iPod touch and iPhone with the touch ability and now Apple is saying they're all bad for controlling their devices.
You have to wonder how far this is going to go, with the death of Steve Jobs is Apple finally going to start fixing his bad ideas starting with touch controls?
Sure does look like it.
So inferior. lolIf true it's a bold move saying that all of their touch devices are inferior when it comes to controls

Think of it, years of the Jobs regime and every single complaint about the touch controls were answered with "the touch is the future, the best and only way to have users experience all the iDevices can do"
Now there's a 180 and they're showing a controller to be built in house?
This goes against everything they've said about their devices and worse yet what about all their customers who asked for something other then touch and were told "you're wrong our way is best"?
I can only think that this is the start of Apple starting to fix what Jobs broke there
None of what you just said is true. :lol:Think of it, years of the Jobs regime and every single complaint about the touch controls were answered with "the touch is the future, the best and only way to have users experience all the iDevices can do"

Are you not familiar with Apple and it's products?
Since Jobs left they've been trying to refine their control for devices, here's one of their latest offerings....

This is pretty common knowledge
This has very little to do with what you posted or this thread. There's a disconnect here you haven't quite discovered yet.Are you not familiar with Apple and it's products?

How about an iphone with a removable controller? Yes there are accessories but they are all horrid. The only way the idea can succeed is if the iphone itself is made with the controller in mind.
Apple can pretty much kill handheld gaming completely by coming up with such an iphone.

It's almost like you forgot that gaming is just one function of what iDevices were made to do. A controller peripheral would address hardcore gamers lamenting over a lack of traditional controls. It's not meant to replace touch controls in terms of every other function of the iDevices. The iPad propped up with a physical controller in hand? Sounds more like a portable console/television combo than a handheld gaming experience. If true it's a bold move saying that all of their touch devices are inferior when it comes to controls

[QUOTE="Jaysonguy"]This has very little to do with what you posted or this thread. There's a disconnect here you haven't quite discovered yet. Its just jayson. his "thing" on the boards (since you appear to not know) is to be almost 100% on 75% of the issues, for none of the right reasons. I 100% agree that touch is inferior, and I do think that apple is admitting that touch controls are not as good as physical controls by catering to the gamer's needsAre you not familiar with Apple and it's products?

It's a win regardless. Gaming wasn't always Apples main focus on the iDevices, so it's an admission of nothing. We're still going to be using touch controls to type, to interact with apps, surf the web and do everything else. Honestly, the only time I see myself even using a controller is to play first-person shooter and fighting games, and possibly platforming games. Every other genre handles more than adequately well, and some (like RTS, Racing, point and click adventures etc) actually handle better with a touchscreen. There is no admission to anything other than Apple hears its user-base, and decided to address one thing. Are you not familiar with Apple and it's products?

Well said Sir.
I think it's remarkable how Jaysonguy manages to spread his very own and special brand of stupidity all across all these boards without even a hint of a reaction from the mods and admins.
Sorry for the interruption, Apple guys. Keep doing your thing.
I'm torn over whether a physical controller would be a good thing or not, I mean yeah it would make fps especially a lot easier to play.. but surely the whole point is mobile gaming and when it gets to the point where you have to carry a controller round with you its going a bit far i think. Saying that I'd prob buy one just for home use anyway:)
