Hi guys, BushDog here reviewing a random indie game!
For this week, I've reviewed the puzzle platformer from Tengle Games titled 'Miriam: The Escape".
Looks familiar?
And yes, they even have the same gameplay!
But don't let that fool you, even tho the game is like a bootleg of the famous 'Limbo' game it has it's own charm and puzzle... and of course available for free on appstores that's why I'm here doing a quick review for it. :)
STORY and Goal
Trapped in a dream world, the player must help Miriam while she's Lucid Dreaming in her own Nightmare. The goal of the game is to finish every challenge being served to the kid, stage after stage, and of course save the young girl, maybe?
Visuals
It's Dark, Depressing, Grim, just like my coffee, and I like it. Why? Because the devs have manage to actually show it by the art style. A monochrome world that really fits the setting of the game.
Gameplay
Jump, Run, and of course think. There's only 4 button available in the game (Left, Right, Jump, and Action or Interact). You start the game with 3 lives and of course losing them all will result to a gameover. Very basic.
Also don't know why but the weakness of the character is a light. Interesting.
Pros and Cons
Of course, we can't prevent people from comparing the game to Limbo and Inside but just like I said earlier the game has its own charm and 24 puzzles to solve. And just like other puzzle game, or any other game in general, finishing this one has a great feeling of accomplishment.
