The graphics and processingg benchmarks are in... And as expected, Apple has yet again destroyed the competition.

The surprising part? It does so by 1600-1900 points, even when pit against a phone carrying 6 GB of RAM and two more cores. Nearly SIXTEEN HUNDRED points. One thousand and six hundred.

For graphics? Over 10,000 points. They outperformed the top Android handset in graphics by over 10,000 points.

Internet performance and Java rendering had the widest performance margin.

Over all, the iPhone 7 is THE absolute fastest phone in EVERY regard by THE WIDEST margin ever in smartphone competition history. The disparity grows every year!

Every other iPhone prior to this handily beat every android phone out, but only by between 400-700 points. Even last years iPhone was still able to beat a majority of this years newest Android sets considering how small every Android handset gains are in benchmarks year over year.

What does this mean? The iPhone 7 will still be able to compete handily with Android phones two years down the line.

Holy freaking cow. The difference in performance is so painfully in your face now, that it makes one wonder why they are paying $600 for Android sets that can't even beat older generation iPhones.

The lack of a headphone jack makes it a non starter imo. Like no expandable storage wasn't already bad enough.

Happy with my Galaxy S5. Samsung screwed up S6 by taking away expandable storage and then they screwed up S7 by making it so that ya can't swap the battery out. S5 was the last one in the series where they didn't make an anti-consumer decision somewhere. Now I know that not being able to remove the battery from S7 has something to do with the waterproofing but I still don't like the idea. And hey, with the removable battery my S5 has a water resistance rating of IP67 and that ain't bad. So still consider the S5 to be the last time Samsung got everything right.

And well, Apple phones have been against options since the beginning so nope.

@Wickerman777: 256 GB storage is more than enough for 90% of users. The other 10% rely on third party or first party cloud service. Welcome to 2016.

There is a headphone jack. It's in the form of an included adapter, but that didn't stop the iPhone from being sold out even before release. I'll revisit this thread in one to two years when every Android set follows. Just like with no physical keyboards and no flash support.

Cloud storage, lol?!!! Only fargin idiots use that. Yeah, put your stuff on the cloud so it can get hacked and then shared with the world. Great idea. :)

Ask the celebrities with their beaver shots all over the internet about how good of an idea using cloud storage is.

It's not like Apple was innovating by removing the headphone jack, already been done.

Ok so I've finally seen the ip7 adapter, it still only lets you do one thing at a time. Apple seems to be the type of company you have to maneuver around so they're not milking you for every dime.

1.Buy the highest capacity you can afford/need

2. Buy a third party brand blue tooth headset(Air pods are guaranteed to get lost)

3.Google drive is your friend

4. all your google play movies and shows can be viewed in the youtube app I believe

5.Apple music is completely optional if you still prefer spotify and pandora

I'm afraid you might not be able to escape the genius bar, Apple wants all revenue from their products so they're the only ones with the tools to fix em if they break. Although I won't say you shouldn't get a second opinion if they try to tell you, you'll need to buy a whole new phone.

Btw TC are you a system war regular, you speak like one no offense but there's a fair bit of trash talk sprinkled through your post. Also are you an avid apple fan, do you not have an ounce of criticism toward them? I feel as one gets older we think more critically about the companies we like which is good.

It's funny that no one can post anything meaningful about how terribly bad the iPhone 7 kills the competition where computing matters most: processing power. Instant diverting to the headphone jack.

It's okay guys. We were already here with the lack of physical keyboard, removal of Flash support, and just about everything you accused Apple of in the past as "having to work around them" just for every Android device ending up doing the same.

A 100 year old component is no different. It's surely been done before. But when Apple drops legacy support, the entire industry listens

@mister-man: this is the mobile forum not mobile wars where we spend time talking trash about the other's choice in OS/phone. I'd be on board to discuss a comparison between android and ios if you were more pleasant to talk to. That being said removal of a physical keyboard was accepted because it was replaced with a digital one. Apple removed the headphone jack in hopes that either 10 we'll suck it up and use the adapter or lighting earpods or plunk down some cash to buy lose-able air pods(should cost $60 max). Not that there aren't air pod alternatives but they may cost even more, not be good quality, or not entirely compatible with iphone. I've heard of lg tone wireless headsets being too loud on ios devices even at the lowest setting but working fine with other devices. It's all well and good to remove something but replace it with something far better. When I'm out and about bluetoothe devices are rare majority of the time I see wired ear buds. Why? because the best wireless headsets are very pricey. I respect your preference for apple but you make yourself hard to take seriously when you're talking trash, it's just unpleasant. To make it worst you come off really zealous, just one who never questions the companies behind their favorite products. No company is beyond criticism.(Just once I'd like to see you criticize Apple)

What happens if your airpod falls out and falls down a sewer hole or something?

I DONT WANT 150 DOLLAR HEADPHONES. I LIKE using the free ones that come with the iphone and i can get new ones if they break or lose them

I DONT WANT WHAT APPLE IS GIVING ME I DONT WANT IT

Imagine if you washed them by mistake or something happens thats 150 dollars gone these things are just too expensive and seem overpriced and should have came with the phone.

All this talk about losing airpods as if they already don't have neck-straps being sold for them. Also as if bluetooth headphones aren't already flying off shelves way before the removal of the headphone jack. Also as if for some reason a bluetooth headphone or headset "won't be compatible." wtf? A bluetooth device not being compatible? The damage control among you is so strong. Must be the aggravation of realizing that your coveted phones are getting its butt whipped by a lesser spec'd device and even last generation hardware while your samsung devices are exploding and being ordered to stay powered down during flights. But hey, you get to customize your homescreens still, amirite? Hilarity.

I don't gotta damage control a thing, user experiences will vary and I know darn well android has it's flaws. I'm afraid I just don't subscribe to the android vs ios mindset you have. It goes without say android or iphone nothing is guaranteed to work perfectly together. It pisses me off when android and ios users feel the need to talk smack about each others stuff as if they're still kids in the school yard. Buy what you like and enjoy and let others enjoy what they have. People like you make it impossible to compare and discuss the two OS. Like why is it no one can sit down with you and compare features, specs aren't everything. Is not your precious iphone proof of that? It's a darn shame this section of the GS forum has been reduced to a snails pace it used to be so much better now all we get is phoneboy war. Know what I'll start my own topics and if I get even a whiff of ios vs android I'm calling in a mod. You kids and your toys I swear.( a strap and why is it a third party company had to think of this, the air pods should have been tethered together to begin with, I've seen bluetoothe earbuds on Apple's site that would have been the perfect design).

Well to get back on topic I'll be waiting for reviews if there aren't any yet. As nice as Apple's presentation was reviewers give me a better sense of what to expect. I don't know where my phone related future is headed I just know I'll have to start cheap. The 7 will run me $1000+ depending on all I'd need. I know you like IOS and it's unskinned-ness but at the end of the day those numbers are second to my user experience. Android is a fine OS, though I won't deny OEM's clog the user experience. I just realized I never see you talking about the finer points of IOS, are you really a spec buff? Why not talk about what IOS 10 is bringing to the table right now it feels like further system stabilization.

I forgot to talk about those last few post. Customization? do you mean widgets you can sit on screen? Those don't really add to the user experience they're just there to look pretty. I can just sit all the apps that fill those purposes right on screen or in a folder. The customization argument is completely invalid.

They really aren't overpriced by too much, at least not anymore overpriced than everything else apple makes. Apple just took a gamble on using tech that hasn't matured enough to have a lower price yet, the price will come down in the next few years. They needed to do something like this as they keep losing market share little by little. The iPhone 7 is an example of what apple does best, it looks really awesome and sleek and runs fast, but it is still playing catch up to android phones who have had its new features for almost 2 years now.

Apple never plays catch up. People don't necessarily understand that what makes them so successful isn't that they do everything first, but that they march to the beat of their own drum and does everything best.

@MonsieurX: not really. Being milked is spending 650 dollars on a Samsung device that can't run as fast as legacy hardware from almost two years ago. Paying 650 dollars on an iPhone that's as powerful as Most entry level laptops and is more powerful than Androids latest and greatest by two-fold and is much more waterproof and holds a much higher value-retention when you decide to sell it? That's being smart.

How does it feel having your teets milked?
