I noticed multiplayer games on android like NOVA 3 are very unbalanced in a sense of what phone you are using. I wouldn't call myself particularly skilled but when I played online for the first time I won and by some distance even against really high level players.. How, because i used the xperia play. Because i was matched up with players with touch screen settings i had a major advantage. I know i wouldnt like to be on the recieving end of this. maybe lobbies should be divided based on the handset.

Bragging about lack of handset choice... Anyway, it's a very interresting point. If no Android game makers have thought about separate servers for hardware button players you may be onto something.

There are peripherals that do the same thing, I think.

Wouldn't it also be unbalanced because of the huge difference in screen size in some games?

that's what happens when you have a range of phones. But I fail to see how the xperia play controls would give you an advantage, it lacks the stick which I'd think you'd need for a fps to work well with it. I have no problem aiming with touch controls....as long as you have a phone with good touch response. Surely the bigger issue would be if some people have the game running much more smoothly.

A smart person who is limited to touch controls would get a ps3 controller and play more competitively, i see no way of you beating someone with a proper controller.

No you just have a whole bunch of players on tiny screens with their thumbs hitting each other. :P

The problem is the xperia play is such an unpopular phone if they were to isolate it you might as well not have anyone to play with at all. :o

You can use controllers on iphone as well so what happens there?
