Are the Redskins in as much trouble as it seems?

When they get Clinton Portis back healthy, I'd bet many of their offensive problems will just go away.  It will really help out Mark Brunell to have him sucking in defenders.  If Brunell still can't do anything, a switch to Jason Campbell could do the team a world of good.  For now though, I still think Brunell can be effective enough.

But one of their major problems right now is too many penalties.  They really need to find some discipline, and fast.  Fix that issue, give a little time for Portis and Springs to get heathy, and the season can turn back around quickly.

So how much trouble are the Redskins in?

Yep, injuries will hurt a team and too many people are saying how Brunell is overrated. When a team loses its major running backs it puts a great amount of pressure on the quarterback to make plays because a good running game will take pressure off of the quarterback.

thank you finally someone said it, a team goes as far as a qb can take them and Brunell can't and won't take them anywhere.

I think they were the run away winner in the team most likely to disappoint topic a couple weeks ago. They're just living up to expectations.

Yes they are in trouble.  Somebody need to give their offense a call because it still has not showed up.  I understand that Portis is a big part but you would think that with Santanna Moss and Brandon Lloyd in the WR spots, they might throw the ball down field over 10 yards.

yes they are in big trouble. They most likely won't make the playoffs now, even with the return of CP

You don't get tired of saying that? The Redskins still have a few injuries. Clinton Portis still is the big one, but their missing their best CB Shawn Springs who they could of used against Dallas, Carlos Rogers still has a few tweaks in his legs. But Brunell really is letting his team down. But peopel are acting like he's doing an awful job. Drew Bledsoe played worse against the Jaguars than how Brunell played against the Cowboys. I just think Washington would be a lot better off with Jason Campbell starting.

You see what I mean, everytime theres a redskins topic your bring up Bledsoe.

Bledsoe - 3tds, 3int, 68.0rating
Brunell - 0tds, 1int, 67.7rating

So they both suck. But at least Bledsoe has won a game and has thrown a TD. And yes the Redskins will be terrible until Snyder decides to spend smart instead of just spending more.

Brunell may suck and he does, but Jason Campell is not ready to be the starter. The Redskins need to learn money can't buy a great offense.

Bad coaching + bad management decisions + bad players = a bad team.

The thing is that when they sign those big name free agents, they sign them when they are a little pass their prime like Mark Brunell, Todd Wade, and Shawn Springs. And most of the good players they drafted om the past like Champ Bailey and LaVar Arrington are no longer with the team, but they have made a living on defense where the Redskins are always one of the top ranked in the league with trades and free agency with players like Lemar Marshall and Marcus Washington.
