WHAT THE ****
spygate was done with haste????? this has never happend before so what is the senator comparing this too? this story is so stupid. he is an eagle fan and i think he has his own agenda.ocdog45Actually he cant do anything without new england's congressman leah blessing...so if the pats do get punish blame this on new england own politicians
Perhaps Belichick's biggest crime was being so direct in having the camera on the Jets' sideline do the spying. Had another camera from a different location focused on the Jets' sideline and coaching staff, Belichick would have been in the clear.
That's the way many other teams in the league do it and have for years.
Tom Curran of NBCSports.com made an interesting point in his column Wednesday. Curran isn't sure if Belichick subscribes to the "not cheating, not trying" credo suggested by LT, but the former Patriots beat writer does remember an interesting comment made by the New England coach in 2004.
Writes Curran, "Asked if his defensive backs were coached to clutch and grab receivers - a persistent allegation at that time - Belichick answered that he believes a team needs to 'do business as business is being done.'
"And signal stealing is part of the way business is done in the NFL," Curran writes.

If you believe that Bill was the only "evil genius" capable of devising such a scheme and that no other team in the NFL has ever done such thing... well, you likely still believe in Santa Claus too.
^^wow..aint looking to good for B.B.,but seriously dont script him of his achivements or ban him like other say....just syspend him for a year and all is forgivePerhaps Belichick's biggest crime was being so direct in having the camera on the Jets' sideline do the spying. Yeah. Those guys who talk about "banning him from coaching" seriously don't know much about sports. They must be the same people who go like "The Celtics already won it all" and "Roger Clemens is the devil" and "Michael Vick deserves the death sentence"...detroitpistons0Yeah I feel everyone deserve a second chance..beside if they bann him it going make the city...nfl..ad their system look bad..also cant forget he did help my g-men get sum titles so I got my blessing

The investigation was carried out hastily, once the punishments were handed out nothing more was said.
It seems you are in denial though "Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah this story is stupid Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah" That seems typical for a Pats fan.
Fact is he admitted to taping teams for 8 years because he thought he was above the rules and that should be seen as a slap in the face of the Commish. The right thing to do would be to suspend him for at least a year and a lifetime ban is possible. Goodell has alot of explaining to do, it sure does seem like he covered this up, and Jack is right who knows how many other coaches have done this?

He might be right, but then why is Bill the only one mentioned being involved in signal stealing. I don't hear the commish bringing up any other head coaches that he knows is stealing signals throughout the regular season.
