This does not come as a suprise, because it has been reported in the past, that Marty and the GM have had their share of problems before
Whoever gets this job is going to inherit a great team with many of the places already in place
Lets see you lose your coordinators and then you wait until most of the coaches are off the table.
But by all means take Mike Mularkey, he won't be calling the plays anymore so he's of no use to us, but AJ appears dumb enough to give him an offer.

I think it was a huge mistake, they got far with him and he was probably their best coach for next season too. But nevertheless the Chargers will do great next season. Schottenheimer can never be replaced though.
I dont know if anyone posted it yet but heres the statement from Chargers President Dean Spanos on his release: http://www.chargers.com/news/press-releases/press-release-20070212.php

I had heard that they were mad at Marty for letting the Assistants seek other opprotunities. And when marty wanted to bring in his son for the Defensive coordinator position, that was the last straw.
This could be a great opprotunity for a new coach. They have all the talent they need to win a super bowl, they just need someone to lead them.
Didn't this happen in Dallas (I don't think they fired Jimmy Johnson though), and the new coach won a super bowl the next year?

The GM and Marty had a feud for a long time, he was not the GM that hired him and from the way it sounds, it seems like the GM has some maturity Issues
Dallas won a Superbowl the year after Jimmy Johnson left under Barry Switzer

Yeah, I heard that they had not been getting along too, i had heard that hiring his son for the Defensive coordinator was the straw that broke the camels' back.
