Brees is going to continue his greatness with teh help of gates and LT and after this year i think the chargers are going to start shopping Rivers and keep brees
Last season was probably a little more than you should expect from him but he will still have a strong season! He took awhile to learn the system and the play at an NFL level and those are things he won't all of a sudden lose. Like i said though you might see a slight drop off in numbers but he just needs to keep winning and he'll be good!
I think he will do very well again. He has a great RB who can run to take pressure off of him, plus who can catch the ball. He has a great Tight End in Antonio Gates. One issue could be the severe lack of experience at wide receiver except for McCardell. One of their young receivers is REALLY going to have to step up next season because Gates & Tomlinson can not do absolutely everything.
With Tim Dwight leaving the team, they are now completely devoid of speed in the WR corps. I'm an SD fan and was in shock that they didn't really cover this issue in the draft or free agency. I say he's a stud and will have a good year but this is going to be an issue that affects him and the team as a whole.
Drew is a solid QB. why nobody gives this guy a break. i havn't a clue. this guy will win a super bowl and people will still hate on him. classic trent dilfer. either way phillip rivers was good in college and like every other person that will say this. "he has no expirience" and after the year they had last year, to go to river now is a disaster to the franchise and will prove why SD is bad. I like the team and expect big things from them, broncos are on a down fall, oakland is in first step to the bowl, and the cheifs are bowl or bust. san diego is younger and ready to go 16 weeks of pain.
Also look at the new defenses of his inter-division rivals, the bronco's have a new d-line which will force it onto his shoulders, the raiders well nvm them, and the Chiefs with our new secondary and LB core it will force all of the work to Ladainian, so with the division games they will only have it easy with the Raiders
