Not to be insensitive...but not all people abuse alcohol like your father did...alcohol abuse is usually the result of a more deeply rooted emotional problem. Alcohol--which releases endorphines and obviously leads to a state of euphoria when consumed in large amounts--is like anything else used in excess. If you eat too much, you'll be unhappy, fat, and have multiple health problems. I'm not saying I support alcohol intoxication or alcohol addiction/dependency...but not all people abuse to such a deadly and disturbing extent. Regardless...sorry about the loss, dude. Countless people in my family have dealt with the same problem. Fortunately, they were all able to overcome it before it claimed their lives.
