That's tough.  Maddox has experience, Harrington has youth.  I'd go with Maddox because at least he was good at one point.

I'd take Harrington because you wouldn't have to pay him too much and he did show some flashes of being a good QB in Detroit (with the receivers he had he should have shown flashes of greatness if you ask me). Plus, Maddox lost some games for Pittsburg that were very winnable. I'd rather see Harrington behind Culpepper for sure.

I would say Harrington just because he is younger.

I haven't heard or seen anything indicating Maddox signing with the Dolphins, and Harrington isn't even officially with the team as of yet.

Either way, it doesn't really matter. If I were Miami (and thank god I'm not) I wouldn't having anything to do with either of these guys, because neither one of them are going to win you many games no matter how you slice it.

Personally, I'd go with Cleo Lemon and see what he can do over these two. But we'll eventually find out, because Culpepper isn't going to be ready for the opener.

Trust me, if you had a choice between Maddox or Harrington, go with Harrington. I watched Maddox single handedly lose 2 games for the Steelers last year. Maddox had 1 good season back in 2002 and he has been garbage since. In the Jacksonville game last year he threw 3 picks ( the game-winner in OT for Jax ), had 2 fumbles ( 1 lost ) and the other fumble was in OT and it kept the Steelers from being able to kick a potential GW FG. His other start in Baltimore didn't exactly leave the Steelers feeling very good about their backup QB position. Those 2 masterful outings led to him being cut in the offseason. Harrington hasn't exactly lit it up these past 4 years but he's younger and has more football life ahead of him.

Also, I read in the Sun-Sentinel ( Fla Paper ) today, that Harrington has agreed to a contract with the Dolphins and is waiting for the Lions to either trade or release him. So it appears he is Miami bound.

HARRINGTON!!! It looks like Tommy Maddox gets payed off everytime he plays in a game... He fumbles the ball like crazy annd passes the ball worse than Mike Vick!!! I don't think Harrington is a great QB but come on this is a no brainer for me.

Yeah, he'll probably end up being a better career backup QB versus Maddox.

For a backup I would go with Maddox for now and never ever pick up Harrington as I don't think he is a very good QB.. ok, he sucks badly. If I had to resort to using Harrington as my backup I would just well give up on the season entirely.
