[QUOTE="bb1924"]With Ben's accident yesterday I've heard a lot of people criticizing the helmet law that was suspended in Penn. I was wondering what everyone here thought.
I personally feel that government intrudes enough with our daily lives. We don't need laws to tell people to wear a helmets or seat belts, if you don't want to for whatever reason you shouldn't have to. At the rate we are going its going to be illegal to smoke in your own house, and if you don't put sunscreen on your kid that will be abuse.

Those laws are passed for the well-being of the general public, for their safety. There are many laws designed to keep the people safe. That's why we have stop signs. So yes, motorcycle riders should be forced to wear helmets.Â
And to make this topic a little more involved with the NFL, what does everyone think of Dangerous Activity Clauses is player contracts?Â
I have a hard time supporting those though. Sure it may end up hurting the team, but you wouldn't tell a waiter he can't go skiing in his week off.
I do think they should have those clauses in the players contract's because of the fact that they have HUGE amounts of money invested in them. A waiter, on the other hand, gets paid if he shows up, if he doesn't he probably won't get paid. I think the money difference is the only reason they should be able to tell their players what off the field activities they can do (hazardous stuff at least).
I also think it should be a law in every state to wear helmets. It's just a safety issue.
