A question that is becomign more and more prominent these days whats better, a small speedy reciever who can run past db's or a big physical one, who can simply body the corners for possesion?

With the contact rules of the last two years id take a small quick guy, but i think as refs slowly stop enforcing that rule the trend will slowly return ro big physical guys. what do u think?

I say possesion because they can be effective all over the field, even in the redzone where they can catch jump balls over the short corners. Speed recivers are just for big plays.

I'd like to have 1 of each on the opposite sides of the field to wreak havoc all over the field.

You really need speed receivers because you can utilize tight ends and running backs as your possession receivers in the type of offense that you run. You always need that one receiver that can stretch the field and make that big play that can change the momentum of the game.

I'd take the Possesion reciever...there's a good few of speed recievers that never really make a impact and find themselves only playing special teams.

well its a lot like what espurs said, two of the best recievers last year, steve smith and santana moss were the small speedy guys. I think because of the rule enofrcement they can just breeze by them, but two years ago the possesion guys ruled the league

Possesion, I want first downs and clock control. Speed guys are nice but they are more like a home run hitter, I'd rather hit for average.

Don't forget the all-time greatest reciever was a possesion guy.

Speed. If you got speed you can help him with the possesion stuff but you cant do it the other way around. or atleast it is harder. so I say speed thgen change him into both. lol kinda corny answer but aw well.

Agreed.  And when speed receivers go long, now you add in the variable of the QB.  Can he throw it that far and still be accurate?  With a possesion receiver, your QB has an easier time because the target is right there.

It deppends on where are they playing and who is trowing to them, a Possesion receiver can be said that is a better WR because he dominates more zones of the field, but sometimes they get lost on teams whose strategy is based on speedy receivers.

I would want speed guys for a couple of reasons First it doesn't have to be for deep balls, their abilty to get down feild and out of route quickly means you can do shorter drops and still get the ball down feild. second is the deep pass, if DBs in the NFL didn't have to worry about deep balls their would be a lot more picks cause they would jump all routes, the threat of the deep ball alows for you to connect on shorter routes.
