I've heard it on these forums before, the RAIDERS ARE the most hated team in NFL history wether you Raiders fans like it or not!

Why do I say this? Well aside from ii being obvious as the team always happens to have a number of low life criminals on the roster and with this is one of the big reasons I believe they get so may penalties. In all of NFL history the raiders have consistently lead the league with the most penatlies! Last year was one of many years were they lead the league in penalties! Tonight isnt much different, they already have 14 penalties and the game isnt even finished.

By the way the scores 30 to 14 NE leads as of now. 7 some to go!

Yeah, I agree with you there. Raiders are really blowing it in the 2nd half with all those penalties.

Penalties killed me. They OWNED on offense....IN THE FIRST HALF. Then all of a sudden it was like they forgot how to pass block. The defense went from awful in the first half to dominant in the second half, but it was because their offense couldn't do crap that they were on the field for the majority of the time and the Pats just wore them down. If the offensive line doesn't maintain some kind of consistency (AND LOWER THE DAMN PENALTIES ALL ALL SIDES OF THE BALL)...Collins straight SUCKS at QB under intense pressure like that. If you give him time...not much....well....you saw the 73-yard TD reception to Randy Moss. He needs rhythm to succeed; if he doesn't have it, he sucks. Period.

On a different note, the Pats looked awful. Dillon sucked against the RAIDERS--THE RAIDERS! They ranked practically dead last against the run last year and didn't do too much in the offseason to bolster the defense. The defense has lost it's dominance of yesteryear, too. The Bruschi's in the fridge and Johnson is gone...they aren't as dominant without them. They definitely showed their vulnerability. Just wait until a consistent offense comes into town...they'll be walking out of there with a loss with a score like 42-14. Jordan had fantastic numbers against them on the ground and through the air for his first career start. They don't look like the same Pats of 2003 and 2004. 2002 isn't included because that was purely luck and a bad call. Weis and Crennel are gone. They won't 3-peat.

you know. even thought penalties killed them. for a team that isn't suppose to be that good, they held there own against the pats. i see this team being real good starting this season. lets remember these are the pats. no other team has a defence like that so the raiders won't have to worry about that until they meet them again in hte playoffs (maybe this year).

They do who in the what now?

Dillon didn't have a bad game, the Raiders just stacked the line the entire game.
Too bad they forgot the Pats can pass better than most teams in the NFL.
Brady threw for over 300 yards!

The Raiders got absolutely stomped and the Pats defense embarrassed Collins.

As for the 'Pats look worse than they did last year' bs. No they don't.
The Raiders looked amazing their first drive, but other than that it was pretty ugly.

As for the Raiders running game, what did you expect from a team that has Randy Moss?
What where the Pats going to do? Stack the line? No.

Let the running back get his 7 yards and cover the deep game.

That's exactly right. Dillon only had a bad game because they were putting 8 and 9 guys in the box. Why do you guys think, a statistically average quarterback like Tom Brady threw for over 300 yards. It's because their receivers were wide open! They barely had anyone covering them. Did you also notice that Dillon was starting to run better late in the game? It was because the Raiders were starting to cover the pass more and Dillon was able to break through a little bit.

You guys also need to remember that it's the first game of the season. You're not going to see the same Raiders and Patriots teams week in and week out as the NFL season progresses. I think you all forgot that a lot of NFL teams, sometimes good ones, struggle in their first game. I actually commend the Raiders, they played a lot better than I anticipated them to play. As for the Patriots, I think they still have a good chance to three peat.

thats pretty right on.

"Collins straight SUCKS at QB under intense pressure like that." he's not the only one. it would be hard for Vick & McNabb to perform when pressured that bad.

Dillon looked terrible last night and Tom Brady was chewin him out like Dillon was a child. did anyone else see Brady mouth the F-word on camera last night? that was funny considering its only the first game of the season.

the pats are in some real trouble with their linebackers....Monty Biesel just isnt going to cut it. I cant wait 'till the Chiefs roll over the patriots defense.

Um...a QB never yells at his RB.

Cory Dillon was absolutely bs that he was getting stuffed. Brady was trying to pump him up because Dillon was getting mad in a bad way.

Mad and hungry = good
Mad and frustrated = bad.

The QB's job is to fire up his running game and remind him that his time will come.
Which it did since Dillon plowed in for 2 TDs.

The same Monty Biesel that powerbombed the Raider's RBs?

Apparently you all have a magicball, but this is a new guy in one of hte most complex LB defenses in the NFL.

Give him time. The guy is an absolute wall when he gets hit. He's a friggin' monster. 6'4 250+.

Patriots won off 2 plays. Collins fumble, which Dillon scored on a TD, then a Pass Int. Call that led to the Tim Dwight TD I believe. Other than those 2 plays, it was a close game. And the penalties, ohh man...disgusting

Actually the Raiders lost because they did not make any half time adjustments. It clearly evident who did their homework on the sidelines and in the locker room during the half. The Raiders got schooled cause they applied the same play calling in the second half. Belichik made adjustments to his defensive scheme during the half to counter the play of Moss and Jordan. During his days with the Giants everyone knows that if you get into Collins' head you can destroy his game. With all the pass Rushing on Collins I was getting winded just watching him trying to escape the pocket. If his Pass Protection was a ship, it would've been the Titanic. They couldn't hold the line and Collins just kept getting swallowed in a sea of Patriot blue.

 You're dilusional....they played 4-3 and Dime all game long. They never forgot they couldn't pass, they just can't stop the pass with all of the new faces in the secondary and no pass rush. Why you think that you need to "stack the line" to stop the run is beyond me. They WANTED to stop the run. That's what Bellicheck was harping on into the half. The only thing they did for the pass was drop their safties back an extra 10 yards to protect against the deep ball. If they were going to get beat, it would be in the secondary because they would be so stretched out. LaMont owned in his first start; the Pats looked awful against him. And the Pats do look worse; if you don't think so, you're insane. Weis gone. Crennel gone. Bruschi out. Johnson retired. Dillion showing his age. Just wait until the Pats play a team that has jelled as a unit and doesn't have a COMPLETELY revamped football team with completely new personnel and play schemes. The Raiders sucked in the second half because their defense was on the field all the time because the offensive line just stopped blocking for Collins (Turner was afraid his guys were properly conditioned in the offseason..he was right). Just wait until a few more games pass before you rule out the Raiders. For practically the worse defense in the NFL last year, nothwithstanding the passing game, the Raiders played well on defense. The Pats aren't as good as they were in 2003 and 2004 (2002 was robbery, so it's irrelevant). Plus, I've always they were overrated and just tended to have a combination of skill and luck at the right time; of course, that's what you need to have 3 out 4 SB championship team. They won't do it this year.

Zack Crockett broke off two huge runs as well. He sucks. He's got nothing....why do you think the Chiefs cut him? Brady was definitely yelling at Dillion...whether or not is was to fire him up or not, no one can be sure. Dillion sucked and will probably only have a 800 yard rushing season, splitting time with Faulk.

The fumble and the INT were the same play. It was ruled an INT, not a fumble.

Monty Biesel is good enough to make the Patriots team and that's all that matters.

Sure he's not a Bruschi, but no one in the league is, so that point is moot.

But to honestly sit there and try to justify the Raiders getting absolutely schooled in football fundamentals is just ridiculous.

The Patriots had trouble with the run because the Raiders have a massive passing offensive.
You let the Raiders run because you know they will eventually have to pass.

And the 4-3 isn't a run defense scheme, it's more of a pass rushing scheme. And we all known the Patriots spanked the Raiders in line domination as well.

Honestly, do you even watch football schemes during the game?

How is a team playing Dime suppose to 'stuff the run'?
They aren't.

The Raiders were running the ball because their QB is a joke.

As long as the Raider WRs weren't getting the ball, the Patriots were ok.

As long as the Raider WRs weren't getting the ball, the Patriots were ok.

Dime isn't supposed to stuff the run, it's to defend against the pass. But they were still able to "stuff" the Pats running game the entire time mostly in the Dime after the Pats had established a phenomenal passing attack.

The Raiders went pass heavy in the second half, so I don't know what you're talking about. He's not a joke, he just needs time to throw the ball. Brady got that. Collins didn't.

The Patriots were playing the 4-3 most of the game because running the regular 3-4 without Bruschi is a joke....and a 4-3 isn't meant to defend against the pass. I would ask you the same question...do you watch play schemes in the game? A 4-3 is a balanced attack against the run and the pass. If you're thinking run, you bring the SS into the box and blitz one or more of your linebackers. If you're thinking pass, you can drop everybody except the d-line into coverage.

I was talking about the Pass Interference call. And the Fumble. Thats what gave them 2 scores..so minus 14pts, and wut would the game have been....20-16.

Dillion wasnt doing JACK for a team that finished like dead last in run defense. He aint so tough is he, baby I loved that 4th down stuff they had. MMM, sweetness. And t the guy who said "tha patriots are one of the best passing team, blah blah" yea they are so great....that was Bradys 9th 300-yrd game in his career. Thats swell,...NOT.

Guess what? They are doing it again. They had a play where LaMont broke off a 56-yard TD run in the 2nd quarter...but Langston Walker held Derrick Johnson when he wasn't even CLOSE to making a play. The other big one on Randy Moss for O. Interference was BS. Guess that's what happens when the NFL hates your team....
