hahahaha hater!......well i mean they werent as dominatn as other "dynastys" but they did still win 3 superbowl wins in 4 years, only dallas of the 90s did that. They didnt really have starr players, and th ey never rally blew ppl out except for pitsburgh for some reason. But i just dnt see how u can be overated and win 3 superbowls, u can call them ovvertated next year if u want or last year, but not those 3 super bowl years.

Wow you obviously have something against the Patriots...but thats no surprise because everyone tends to hate the best teams or teams that win alot.

The Patriots won 3 super bowls in 4 years I believe...that being said they cannot be overrated. The Patriots never got the attention of winning a Super Bowl at the start of the season. A team like the Colts would be overrated if anything. A lot of players on the Patriots were underrated and that is why nobody thought they would win.

The Patriots had to overcome a lot of problems within those 4 years. Their secondary could never stay healthy, they lost players to free agency, and they lost both offensive and defensive coordinators. If you went by those facts, they shouldn't of even made the playoffs any of those years, but if a team had accomplished that much in that short of a span, there is no way that you could call them overrated. I also hate the Patriots, but I admit that they're not overrated.

Yeah and not to mention they won 2 super bowls with a poor running game. And Brady has never really had a superstar WR that most Pro Bowlers have.

You call that a rant?  That's pathetic!  That's not even 3 lines!  If you're going to rant, then rant big.

And I also have to disagree with you.  All that matters in a football game is that you come away with the W when its all over.  Through those 4 years, the Patriots did that the best, getting the W's when they counted.

Yeah, even though I'm no expert, that is a pretty lame rant.

I hate the Longhorns, but not because they win... Because they are the longhorns..... I did take them over USC though, anyways think the Pats are overrated because they have A HUGE ADVANTAGE at their home field in the playoffs because of the weather and look at their division, the Jets stink, the Fins are below average but rising, and the Bills are, well the Bills...

If they play in such a weak division, how did they make it to the Super Bowl and beat all those teams from different divisions and beat the "best" NFC team in that run.

You obiously don't know what you are talking about. You can't measure luck. You think the Patriots got lucky because you didn't expect them to win....meaning they were actually underrated. The Patriots actually got bad luck with injuries having to start a nfl record of starters one year when they won the Super Bowl. Not many people expect the Patriots to win this year...just like always.

First thing the Patriots earn the home field advantage...thats why they call it an advantage...Peyton Manning has a advantage playing in a dome. It just doesn't get cold and snow in New England...other cities have nearly the same conditions. I'm also not sure how much the players can get used or prepare to the snow and cold. The Patriots have not always had homefield advange...in 2001 and 2004 they were on the road against Pittsuburgh. The AFC East has not always been that bad...if you actually know anything the Doliphins and Jets were actually good teams.

Who are 'all these people'?

Go outside of New England and you don't really see much 'OMFg...teh Patriots r00x00zzz!111 like you do with other teams.  (Seahawks have a large fanbase as well as the Falcons)

The Patriots are a dominant team.  Period.

They have one of teh best coaches and staff in the league who go out of their way to embarrass other teams on the field with their ability to find their opponents weaknesses.
On top of that they have one of the best QBs in the past 20 years, plus dominant D and O-lines.

Side note: I don't know how you can say the Patriots have a weak running game anymore since they just drafted a down hill RB out of Minnesota who should really shake things up come this fall.

Not many below average teams can go from 4-12 to 9-7.

Anyways(As much as it pains me to say this) I dont think The Pats are overrated they are a damn good team. But if anyone on that team gets overrated, its Tom Brady, The reason why I say this is because everyone keeps saying that he is as good as Joe Montana was and thats a load of sh!t. Brady cannot even look at Montana's jock strap for to do so would kill him. I'm not saying Brady blows he's a very good QB, but at this point in his career we cannot say that he is at Montana's level.

I agree with that.  Brady is a great QB, but he's not Montana.

I'd have to agree with some others on here.  The Pats are not overrated as a team.  They won, sometimes not convincingly, but they won.  I think some of the players are clearly overrated as individuals.  What the Patriots did was more based on overall Team-play, coaching, and excecution.  Not any individual player.  The entire team is above average, and I'm not trying to take anything away from certain players, but I don't think any one player is the reason they did so well.

No he's actually doing better than Montana right now.

Stats wise Brady is doing better at a younger age than Montana.

And people compare them because of their playstyle.  (ie- unwavering ability to get 'the pass' to win the game)

Well most people compare him to Montana because of the similar game.

The Patriots have done something no other team can seem to do......win and win consistantly in the era of free agency. They do it old school, with teamwork, an outstanding coach and productive drafts.

The best part is that the Patriots aren't even the defending Champs anymore and people are still crying about them being 'overrated.'

How are they overrated anymore?  No one is even talking about them outside of this forum.

When was the last time the Pats were ranked number one in anyones mind?  Im a pats fan and i wasnt expecting them to do win 3 SB's in 4 years and yet they are overated?  This idea bogles the mine of the real football fans on this board.  Last year they couldnt have been overated, no one had them making the playoffs after they lost 4 DB's for the season.  Tom Brady was throwing to a 5'9" Deion Branch and a 7th round pick in Givens and Corey dillon was either struggling or injured.  If you can be thought of not making the playoffs and be called a overated when you do make the playoffs then this is a sad world we live in.Â
