It's a long read so I don't think most people here will read it, but it will open your eyes to see what happens behind the scenes in the NFL. And how some players live after injuries.

Football is not good for the body, it rapidly decreases your life expectancy, can cause many other types of problems later in life! This is why the NFL is working on creating kind of like a "social security" for ex-NFL players to get help when needed due to the recurring problems from their past NFL career.

One way that i think is awesome is when players get fined for whatever reason they put money into that fund to help the NFL players needing medical help.

Yes its a reality check, but the players choose to play, they now what happens to their body now, and will have to live with their bodies after football, you always have to pay a price for greatness!

Please tell me who forced this guy into the NFL?Wait even better tell me who in the hell this guy is?Sure you brought up Earl campbell. But correct me If I'm wrong didn't earl campbell get a four year college education for free? And even if he didn't most of the people in the NFL today did. So why after they get that college education (Something most of America holds in the highest regard)do they go to the NFL to end up cripple?Because they're greedy. They want fame and money. But not even one can have it. That's why they want it. They know the risk. Nobody forced them into this sport. Please tell me who put a gun to Reggie bush's head and forced him into the nfl.Go to college on a football scholarship do your four years and get the hell out of football. It doesn't seem that hard.

This the same stupid thing as people who talk about mike vick.WHY IN THE HELL DO YOU DO SUCH STUPID THINGS?Did they ever think the people who were poor with them got put into that situation were just plain stupid?Seriously?

People need to stop treating these guys like there kids they're full grown men and can make there own decisions.

WTF? They play for the GAME! Of course they play for the money, too! What do you expect? Them to apply for a job at McDonald's thinking they'd make just as much there? Wow, dude...

Did you miss the part where I said THEY GET A COLLEGE EDUCATION FOR FREE.

Most people with a college education are pulling in like 200,00 a year. That's pretty good.

Most of them get a college education for free.

Most college graduates get 300,00 grand a year. That's not half bad.

most players take basket-weaving 101 through out college, and i didnt know 300,00 was a number! but i get what you mean

i wish i was good enough to get a college scholarship for sports i would get a degree for sure, hey its free isnt it. But i would also focus more on being a player, because everyone wants to be famous and make the big bucks!
