Peyton Manning has not had the best of playoff performences, 5 INTs and only 1 TD (Ty Law -2- just has Peyton's number and Ed Reed - 2 -  is one of the best).  Is this something I should worry about a great deal.  My tendency is not to, because it is Peyton Manning.  It seems that the Colts, this year, are starting to have things fall in place for them.  Last year we were the "sure shot" for the super bowl, but the death of Dungy's son took up for a detour.  Our defense all year has been setting league and team worse records only to be playing totally opposite of what we are used to the producing.  With Rodney Harrison probably out, this should open Marvin up.  I could not think of any other better way for the Colts to get to a super bowl.  First game KC.  Our league worst rushing defense against the number 2 RB of the League, Larry Johnson.....35 + yards rushing, no TDs.  Second game, Baltimore.  The number one offense against the number one defense.  Number one offense, no TDs........number one defense 2 INTs...  Colts held on.  third game is against out biggest rival, New England Patriots.  The PAtriots have had out number for years.  We have played the Patrios at least one time int he last 6 years and some of those years we played twice.  Needless to say, either team is pretty familiar with each other.  With the Colts getting this one at home, I feel like we have the advantge, but you cannot put anything past Brady or Bellichek.  What are your thoughts?  Is this the year I can finally celebrate a world championship birth?......God, I hope so.

Yes because they are facing the "godly" Patriots this weekend. However if Peyton Manning steps up and if Colts D plays the way that they did in last 2 games, then they might be able to defeat Patriots.

Of course they should be worried.  They have one of the best QBs in the league, but the last 2 games he's put on preformances that would make Ryan Leaf cry.  The defense has been phenomenal, but that's far from the norm and it's amazing they were good for even one game.

But I gotta agree with ocdog a bit, the Pats should be worried also.  By all means this is the best shot the Colts are ever going to get at making it to a Super Bowl.  They're finally playing in Indy, which is huge, and the defense looks inspired.  After 3 rings, it's possible the Pats could be a bit complacent.  With Indy focused, that's not good for them.

Belicheck owns Manning....well let me rephrase that...Belicheck w/Ty Law owns Manning has been horrible in the playoffs so far. I think its time for him to break out, I mean think about it. The Pats defense isnt the Ravens.....and the Chiefs had Ty Law, who owns Manning.....so odds are better this week for Peyton, as far as solo performance goes....but then again.....he is playing Belicheck, but this time without Ty Law.

Yes the Colts should be worried. Their defense has stepped up in the past two games, but Peyton hasn't stepped up at all. This is the complete opposite of the regular season. Plus, the Chiefs and Ravens pretty much shot themselves in the foot several times. I'm not saying it is impossible for the Colts to get to the Super Bowl, but something got to give. And the Patriots shouldn't be comfortable either. They are playing at the RCA Dome and homefield advantage has played quite favorably to the Colts. Missing Ty Law will play a factor as well. Man I don't know what to expect from this AFC Championship.

This time, however the game is not in New England and there will be no snow.  Indianapolis will have the always friendly home crowd on their side.

regardless of the Pats/Colts history. If I am the colts and I am facing a team next week that just beat the best team in football despite the starting quarterback throwing three interceptions i would be worried.

Yes they should be worried and I will not pick the Colts to win this game either, The Colts and Payton Manning have to convince me with a victory in January, that they have overcame the hurdle of the Patriots, sure the Colts have won the last 2 Regular season meetings, but that still is not enough to convince me, that they can beat the Patriots in January

If the Colts do not win this game and this is their best chance to beat New England, Payton Manning will never hear the end of it and nobody will ever believe that he can beat New England in January

I hate to say it but the Patriots are set up for another Super Bowl win.  I am not counting the Colts out, but Brady is the man when the Patriots are under pressure.  They defeated the almost unstoppable Chargers by taking advantage of mistakes.  The Colts are full of mistakes at the moment, with Manning throwing picks and the offense not putting up the numbers from earlier in the season.  They also choke in the playoffs.  As for the NFC teams, the Bears have Grossman as a liability still (even with a solid performance this past weekend) and the Saints are giving up 20 points/game.  They also have a 1-3 record against the AFC this year with the only win coming against the Browns by 5.

As for the Colts, they gave up 22.5 points/game in the regular season but only 14 in the past two games.  Only 3 of the Colts wins this season were decided by more than a touchdown, which is not usually the case, though they have beaten their last two opponents by a combined 24 points.  I think if Addai can get the run going and Manning can make some smart passes and control the clock, they can win this game.  I would still put them in as an underdog because of Manning's 5 postseason picks and only 1 touchdown.

Brady is the man when the Patriots are under pressurefenix1022

You can say that again, 12-1 in the postseason speaks volumes.

Don't forget that Brady is coming off his worst playoff performence as well.  Brady threw 3 picks against San Diego, and just got lucky that one interception turned in to a fumble by the defender witch gave the Patriots a first down and later a TD.  This game is in Indy (very, very loud), Bob Sanders is back, and Nick harper is playing out of his mind right now.  The key to this game will be the Indy offesive line (to protect Manning and open the run) and the play of the the Indy LBs (filling the right gaps).  I like what Indy is doing on the defensive side with Freeney and Mathis now too.  They are bull rushing the tackles, going starright up the field, instead of trying to get to the QB every time.  If they can show this same power coming off the snap again this week, New England should have a difficult time with the run.  Brady will not win this game if he has 50 pass attempts, like he did against San Diego (51 attempts.....I believe).

For me, it is like Christmas all over again.  I cannot wait until Sunday to watch this game.  Easily, to me, this will be the most exciting game to watch this weekend.

San Diego had the home crowd as well, but it still did nothing to help them out.  If we can take one thing from these playoffs is that what you expect to happen in the AFC most likely will not happen.  Peyton should be worried because he has been horrible and the defense has saved him from bowing out.  They will need to score TDs this week because the Pats will not be stopped by their D.
