The Hines Ward love has gotten out of hand.

Am I imagining things or was Chris Collinsworth praising Ward tonight for his "knock out" of Ed Reed some time ago? A block in which Ward speared Reed in every sense of the term, leading with the crown of his helmet. Thats not an isolated incident with Hines either. Looking at 90% of his big blocks, or hits, or whatever. He is leading with his helmet. This needs to stop. Kids are watching this and hearing it as a "good thing" or as something worthy of praise. When, in fact, ITS THE COMPLETELY WRONG THING TO DO!

*Not saying this because I think hes a bad player, or a Steeler. I would glagly take him over Edwards. But this is ridiculous.

Lethal indeed. Crap like this can kill someone. Its a spear. To the helmet. To a player who was facing, but was not looking at him. This cannot be praised.

ps: I think hes a great player. But the helmet to helmet crap needed to stop a LONG time ago.

A lot of his hits probably are dirty, but I respect the hell out of a WR that is willing to throw his body around like that. So many of them are little vags that do everything they can to avoid contact.

Wait, what?!?!?! I can't stand the Steelers and I'm in no way a fan of Hines Ward, but the blocks he lays are lethal. Besides, they already made a rule to crackdown on his bad a** blocks. Browns are garbage.Bobbles

They called it the Hines Ward Rule.  That shows you have fed up everyone else in the league was with him pulling that crap.

Ward may get away with some questionable hits/blocks, but have you seen anyone on the defense coordinate some "dirty" payback? No. Because its football!

I wouldn't want any of my guys suffering a dirty hit, but I say give the man a taste of his own medicine rather than nag/praise him.
