The Wall Speaks the Truth to You.
Go ahead, tell me how correct i am.
I agree with Ngamer... where the hell is Clinton Portis??
Addai has the Colts passing attack which opens lanes for him; Portis has proved that he wasn't just another Broncos' system RB and deserves at least the no 10 spot!
Also, James and Faulk > Addai. The 1000yd benchmark was set in a 12 game season, which now equates to 1333 yds in a 16 game season --- so sayin' Addai has (barely) crossed the 1000 yd mark in his 2 seasons doesn't really mean jack.
Portis just missed my list. Unfortunately he got left in the clump of 3 or 4 other HBs that almost made it.wallymartin
What? There is no almost on this one, seriously, Portis > Addai. Fred Taylor > Addai.
Of all the "1,000yd" backs in NFL, Addai's longest run was 23yds, 23!! (Fatbody LenDale had a 27yd'er)
One thousand yards is meaningless in the modern era, the number to look for is 1,333 (83.33 YPG)

I also would like to add another name and that's Willis McGahee.
Lol at Adrian Peterson being 4 he is at least #2 if not #1 he is in a whole another leage above Westbrook and Jackson...DLateral
Adrian Peterson is...
Injury Prone: Practically his entire college career was plagued by injury, and he did get banged up as a rookie. Until he proves otherwise, you cannot trust him to stay healthy.
In his second year. He's played one season. He's got a possible sophomore slump to deal with and has to prove that season 1 wasn't a fluke(not saying it was, but it's possible).
Inconsistant. He went over 100 yards 6 times in 2007, but had 70 or fewer yards 7 times, including 4 times where he went for under 50 yards and a monstrous 3 yard effort against the 49ers.
------------
Bottom line: Peterson has enough physical talent for me rank him 4th, but too many questions to be any higher.

After one season of play, I'm not willing to put Peterson at #2 yet. Last yer Westbrook had over 2,000 all-purpose yards and 12 TDs. Jackson had an injury plagued season where his O-line was completely obliterated last year, playing only 12 games and still rushing for 1000 yards. The season before last when the O-line was actually healthy he had over 2,300 all-purpose yards and 16 scores. Peterson last year, great rookie season no doubt, lead the NFC in rushing yards barely over Westbrook, but overall Westbrook had more yards still. Let's see AP stay healthy for a complete season and repeat what he did last year before saying such things.

Lol Sophore Slumps arent real, and oh yea do Jackson and Westbrook have the single game rushing record? No? Yea I believe Mr. Peterson does.. he has the power to plow over defenses and the speed to outrun pretty much any defender in the league can Westbrook do that can Jackson do that? No Westbrook is too small and Jackson is injury prone also and cannot outrun alot of DB's and so what if he had a few bad games some teams outlined their whole defensive strategy on stopping him and he still had some huge games on teams who were bent on stopping him and next year he will be less injury prone and he will be even bigger then he was before and he also impacts his team more then anyone in the league does, the Vikings have some slack Division 2 QB who cant hit the broadside of a barn while both the Eagles and Rams at least have decent QB's (Bulger and McNabb) and why is Jackson even in the top 5 he barely got 1000 yards rushing last year? And Westbrook got almost 370 touches last year and if Peterson had gotten even near that many touches do you realize how many all purpose yards he would have had? For the games he was healthy Peterson carried that offense and next year he will have even more of an impact and play in more games the last year and as for him being better then Tomlinson I'd like to think so as Tomlinson got injured last year also and it could be dabatable that Peterson is more athleticaly gifted (Power and Speedwise) then Tomlinson and dont forget that the Chargers have way more offensive weapons outside of Tomlinson as the Vikiings and Peterson was still as dominant as Tomlinson was on days when he was doing average and I am sorry this post is so unbearably long just trying to get my opinion out:)

Let me reiterate this: He had 3 yards against San Francisco. 3 yards! on 14 carries! I don't care what defense you're going against, an elite RB does NOT average 0.2 yards per carry. The week before he was 7.7. Peterson is the definition of inconsistency.
Thanks Wallace, your statement supports my argument that Emmitt > Barry Sanders.Let me reiterate this: He had 3 yards against San Francisco. 3 yards! on 14 carries! Yeah, sure, all RB's have bad days... Sanders had enough of em to fill five careers. One can make a plethora of excuses for Sanders, but elites don't need excuses - that's why they're truly elite.
I'm an equal opportunity hater. Brett Favre & Barry Sanders, each single-handedly will keep both teams in any given game; and with each one you must live with their peaks and valleys... Favre's INTs and Sanders' 10 yard losses. I wouldn't take either player (in their primes) if I'm starting a franchise. Period.
BTW, I'd take Peterson (and his injuries) over Sanders' "toe dipping" styIe. Did Barry ever trust a play?

That one game didnt stop him from averaging 5.6 for the season and 6/7 of the games were he didnt get over 70 yards rushing he didnt get over 15 carries thats not inconsistancy thats being underused which he wont be next year.
Lesson 1: Bobbles and Espurs are jackasses. wallymartin
Adrian Peterson is a Sooner, for that reason alone he sucks.Espurs117
Roy Williams = TRUTH. Espurs117
... Roy Williams>Ronnie Lott! Best coverage safety to ever play the game!!!!!Bobbles

Roy Williams could rush for 2500 yards if Dallas started him at rb. Also if they put him at CB, no one would throw for over 80 yards vs Dallas.
If you could clone Roy Williams 21 times, you could put him at every position and I guarantee the Cowboys would win the SB every year. They'd have 22 pro bowlers and win every possible award in the league.Bobbles
I really wish the Cowboys would offer Williams the coaching job after Wade is done. Roy Williams is a better HC than Garett, hands down. I also think we should put Roy at returner. I remember in Madden I outran Devin Hester with him once. That game is so realistic.
^ Addai is at the low end of Top 15, imo
McAllister > Addai ; F. Taylor > Addai ; Portis > Addai ; McGahee > Addai ; M. Lynch > Addai

I think your selling Addai a little short their and what does imo mean?
In my opinion.

I may just be talking crazy here but why not just take the extra 2 seconds to spell it out?DLateralNow we're getting into the problem of internet slang.
Nice list Wally, I really like how you have LT up athe top I think he may not be best out there for this coming season but you never know until they start playing, but I must agree that Jamal Lewis should not be on this list, but it's your list and you should stick to it.wwe4ever_in05
Wouldnt expect that sourt of talk from a Browns fan:P
Jamal Lewis was 5th in rushing yards last season (1,304), and tied for 7th in rushing TDs (9). He averaged 4.4 yards per rush. He's got an emerging Derek Anderson to take defenders away from the box, and will only be 29 when the season starts. Unless he gets injured, I can't really see him NOT on the Top 10 list.wallymartin
Very good point, I like the way that sounds.

Oh for God's sake stop. Roy Williams is a hitter. Period. Granted, a good one but nothing more. The man is an embarrassment in coverage. No, that's too kind. He is an utter, total, and complete disgrace in coverage. He is and always has been an under-sized linebacker. Enough already! If he played on a low profile team, he never sees Honolulu...
