It's a good idea because it's the only move right now that would benefit him professionally.  For one, it shows that he does still want to play football.  Secondly, his stock won't fall as far when he does return to the NFL.  Instead of taking another year off, he stays in good football shape.  A team will want him when he gets back.

Well they might.  They're not gonna get much out of him trade-wise(though his time in the CFL may help that) and they won't have to pay him a whole lot.  They don't need him, but yeah, it's very possible.

Then he might resort to taking drugs again. I just hope that when or if he returns to Dolphins, he can still contribute to the team.

This could be good for him, He'll stay in shape, it will keep his mind in the game and off of drugs, and he needs the $ to pay child support for his 4 kids, damn what an irresponsible prick this guy is.

I do agree they can get by without him, but why should they? Having someone of his caliber at a low salary is an amazing deal. Ronnie Brown only posted 900 yds last season, and no doubt he could be a 1100-1200 yrd rusher, but why when you get a Heisman who can still deliver?

Yeah, you don't know if he'd rather run for 1000 yards and make money or smoke pot on a deserted island.

People in the NFL are willing to spend more money on bigger risks just look at joey harrington or antonio cromartie who has been injured for the past two years, the biggest reason the dolphins wouldnt want him back is because of the bad publicity and the disruption in the locker not because of wasted money

Everyone that has spoken on hsi behalf has never said anything about disruptions and whatever, but he is a small disturbance because of the publicity. But everyone in the NFL has a crosshair on them and receives it. Rueben Droughsn beat his wife through a door, and he isnt getting talked about...as much. THe guy smoked some dope...teens all across America, and adults do it. Doesn't mean he isnt an amazing athlete worth the bargain price. I'd take a chance on him, wouldn't care about the failed drug tests that much. Its  a business about winning, and if he helps create a winning atmosphere, then there is no reason to ditch. They finished 9-7 when he was there, and like what 3-13 when he wasn't, so Id keep him

The difference in wins wasnt because of the return of Rickywilliams, it was because of the emergance of chris chambers and because of ronnie brown instead of the running backs we ahd the year before. I bet you cant even name any of the running bakc we ahd in the 4-12 season

TRavis Minor and Lamar Gordon? I admit Ronnie Brown and Chris Chambers emerged as expected. Even though Chambers has always beena  freak. It still doesnt matter becuase no matter how stupid Ricky may be, you cant deny he'll help the team
