Worst Team in the NFL (NEW POLL)

Who do you guys believe will be 2009's worst team?

The main canadites for me are in the poll, and some others are in the "Other". Cleveland lost Winslow, they still haven't decided about their QB, their RB is old, and their defence is full of question marks. Denver traded away their franchise QB, their top receiver is making headlines for immaturity off the field, and their defence completely melted down last year and wasn't fixed well enough during the off-season. Detriot is coming off an 0-16 season, have a rookie and Culpepper at QB, no offensive line, a joke of a defence and only one star on the whole team (Calvin Johnson). Tampa Bay has shipped off all their veterans and is in complete re-building form. Those are my four main canadites.

As for the others, St. Louis has won five games in the past two years (even less than the Lions and Chiefs) and will not be ready to compete this year, Kansas City is still very young, and Oakland had become a celler dweller since their crushing loss in Super Bowl XXXVII.

I'll say the Chiefs could very well be the worst team in the NFL this year.  No offensive line and questions on the D-line as well will not be good.  The firing of Chan Gailey is also horrible IMO.  Now Haley really is on the hot seat already because now he can't blame anyone but himself if the offense sucks it up.

EDIT: Look for the Power Rankings to return after the games this week have concluded, probably by Monday or Tuesday so they will be ready for the season to begin.

Either the Broncos or the Raiders. After seeing the Raiders this past week, everyone was awful on that team. They really need Al Davis to go.geaux321

Browns and Bucs could end up with 4 wins. st.Louis will win 5 and I think detroit can win 6.

While we're talking about the worst team in the NFL, what about potential sleepers this year. The Dolphins and Falcons (especially Atlanta, I think I had the Fins as a 7-9 or around there), came out of no-where last year, so there will no doubt be a team or two like that this year. I don't really count the Packers, Saints, Seahawks, Jaguars, Bills and Texans as sleepers as there are people expecting some good things from them this year.

I see the Jets possibly being a surprise because of Rex Ryan and Mark Sanchez could be what we saw last year in Harbaugh-Flacco and Smith-Ryan, and there is talent there, with Thomas Jones, a decent offensive line, and some good players such as Revis, Bart Scott, Lito Sheppard, and Rhodes.

The Bengals may (but very unlikely) may surprise as they did have the 12th ranked defence in the league last year, and that was without potential star Keith Rivers, and now they have Rey Mauluga there too, and Palmer is coming back. That said, T.J is gone and there still are question marks on D, so like is said, possible, but highly unlikely.

I wouldn't be surprised to see those two teams come as a surprise. Any other teams?

With an additionnal 1st rounder for the next 2 years and a 3rd rounder, the Broncos are not in bad shape at all in the long run.

KC or the Lions gets my vote. A team I think will be far worse than anyone thinks is the jets.

The offense can be decent if Ward can play well and Leftwich is better than most people thinks, though his accuracy is terrible at times.  And no way Rudd is a waste, he's great. At least, they have a few things going their way, unlike the Chiefs.

I definetly agree that the offence is horrible. leftwich is garbage, and there is no one capable of being a starter (but they are being smart in letting freeman learn from the sidelines), though ward and winslow are alright, but they wont have as much success (mainly ward) as before. adams hasn't lived to his expectations, but Rudd is great, so I'll disagree with that.

Realized I haven't put in my 3 cents yet, for my money I say St. Louis.  I know I have them finishing higher than the Lions and Browns in my predictions, but they will probably play worse overall.

I'll admit that I was more than impressed with the Raiders Monday. I still think we'll finish off the sweep when they come to San Diego, but I can see them being a .500 team. Chiefs and Broncos, no. Their defence and rushing game was amazing. I'd be more frightened if Davis didn't drink before drafting.

Rams and Lions can score, just difficulty winning.

Right now its Browns and Bucs. I mean c'mon no 1st downs in he 1st half for Tampa.

Wow, so the Lions are capable of winning. Oh my God, the boys have found the matches! :lol: Okay, so this season will still most likely be rather drab for Detroit, but I now think there are several other teams who have a better chance of being given the gracious title of "worst team of '09":

Washington
Tampa Bay
St. Louis
Cleveland
Kansas City

Sure the Lions are 1-2, gettting fairly manhandled by New Orleans and losing by 14 to Minny. However, they have been showing signs of life in each game, and this time it worked out for a win. In my opinion, that makes for quite a statement of improvement. The aforementioned teams just haven't been on the same par. :|

Dallas is or maybe was the most overrated team. Worst team has to now be the Rams. The San Fransico defense embaressed them.
