Wow, what a game.
I tell you what. I am a diehard Packer fan and I was really nervous. I thought for sure we were going to lose in OT or at the end of regulation.
Seeing the game end on that bomb was incredible!
[QUOTE="haloraider"]He's a real man, as I have said many a times, and I'm happy that he beat the Broncos but to acknowledge anything more is heresy as a Raider fan.B0Knows
it always seems us raiders fans are the only ones who make sense.
Stop making these jokes, because the majority of Raiders fans make the least sense of any fans I've ever heard.I like brett favre and all, but still Elway>>>Favre.
I don't consider myself a Favre "fan", but I appreciate how he plays (when his INT's are minimal).
That said, you have to be a serious hater (and blind) to not give him the props he deserves for maintaining his high-level of play to age 38.
A quick check of history will show you a long list of truly great QB's who were noticeably fading at (or by) 38, and who put up thier worst season, QB Ratings-wise, and statistically at/by that age too.
Yes, there are exceptions. Favre is one of them.
You can take away half of his records, and he still walks into the HOF, on the first ballot.
(whether you like him or not) ;)
Worship is a pretty strong word.
Support is probably better fitting. If you ever go to the ESPN boards, you should see all the crap they give Favre. You have to truly appreciate a QB that has set a ton of records with no all-time great WRs or even superstar receivers supporting him (other than maybe Sterling Sharpe...but briefly.)
As a public service to the Favre Lovers of the Union (no one else will care), check these 2 sets of stats (and u may appreciate him even more, if that's possible) with this thought in mind as you view them...
Consider what Favre is doing this year, at 38, "Carrying the Packer Offense" compared to John Elway's seasons of 1986 (26yrs old), and 1989 (at 29), while Elway was likewise carrying the Broncos on his back to 2 SB's. (1986 Broncos had no 1000yd RB)
