In SMG, you get purple coins to collect as well, it would seem.

Not to mention an incredibly awesome unlockable is...well, unlocked, after you get all stars and purple coins...

I don't care about the number of stars, what it really matters is if the game is long enough to have many hours of enjoyment. I heard it is going to be like 40+ hours long, it sounds good to me.Thiago26792

Yes, I never got the 120 stars in Mario Sunshine I'm missing one blue coin to buy the last star. But I hope Galaxy results a good challenge for me.

Nothing wrong with a challenge. It gives games more replay value if you don't get everything on the first run.

The number of stars doesn't matter as much as the gameplay/time/skills needed to obtain them. They could make a mario game with 2304238423 stars, then have you run in a straight line to collect them all. More doesn't mean better.7CloudStrife7

ive played every 3d mario game they made and every one except super mario 64ds has had 120 stars. i wish they would add more. i see that galaxy is putting more galaxies which is good but i wish each galaxy had seven or so satrs like the past so we can have a butt-load of stars to collect. any thought?dinofan01
