okay so i know that you can use GHWT instument with rockband 2 but i have 2 questions about it. can you use GHWT instruments for RB1? my other question is can you use RB2 or RB1 instruments on GHWT

Yep, it can be quite confusing. But there are charts available to show the compatability, such as this one:

its illogical for RB drums to work on GHWT, because there's a missing pad in the RB set. im almost sure guitars work and i have no idea about mics.

If it is anything like teh Xbox version it should morph the drums on screen into the 4 pads. not sure as i have it for Xbox and i personally wont pick up GHWT
