3 DS's now??

anyone notice nintendo has made three models of the same console without any major improvements to either one.

3 months before nintendo lite came out i had just got the original, and i just got the lite this christmas. I personally think nintendo is trying to scam their customers by getting us to whip out 2 benjamins every time they add an insignificant feature.i will not be getting the dsi because it lacks the features necessary for me pay $180 bucks. Originally i thought the dsi was going to be a strong competitor for the psp, which is as good as an mp3 with a games features.

so does anyone else feel like you're being scammed??

yup, i think the cheekiest thing nintendo did was try to rerelease the gba with the micro, they have done it for years, i've always preferred handhelds over consoles cos i move around a lot, i dont want to oversimplify the whole thing but taking 20 years to get from gameboy to DSi is embarassing, emo kids and magikarp develop faster than that. look at how far mobile phones have come in 20 years, don't anyone try to say the gaming industry or nintendo specifically is lacking money or intuitive ideas, I think it's just pure greed and laziness.

The DSi was really a way for Nintendo to try to end piracy with their handheld, and they may succeed if they continue to put out firmware, because as of now there is a way to pirate on the DSi so Nintendo has begun to loose already... I still have my old DS lite and don't plan on ungrading to the DSi until they start taking advantage of the upped hardware and the Camera that the DSi has.

I am a gamer and I want to play games not take pics. I see no need to upgrade for this.

I have bought all three.

I don't feel scammed. Sure it's a lot of money, but I love the feeling of getting a new piece of hardware.

I always wait for the 3rd or 2nd Model this time I waited for the 3rd last gen I waited for the GBAsp with the brighter backlit screen. The gen before that I waited for the Gameboy Color since Gameboy Color was basically a Gameboy but in Color.

I like the new upgrade :) It has firmware updates/browser (not really usefull but it's portable)/ DSWare games/ SD card/ and much more.

I think this is a major update for a handheld like the DS.
