I've never been a big online player of Pokemon; I just dig playing the games, and I could never get my Lite or my DSi XL to connect to my Wi-Fi due to my security settings on my router. But my 3DS does successfully connect, so I figured I would give it a shot. I have had no problem playing Pokemon Black or White over the W-Fi (I do suck at it, though, because I have never played competitively!), and everything there seems to be good as gravy. But whenever I try to play Pearl or HeartGold over the Wi-Fi (still from the 3DS that just connected on Black), the game just tells me it can't find an access point when I try to connect to Nintendo WFC. Anybody have any guess as to why that might be?

I had the same problem on Black. Make all the IP numbers 0? I don't know about that, but it worked for a friend.

It's because games like Pokemon Black and White are DSi enhanced games and can conenct while using WPA security on a router, but older Pokemon games aren't DSi enhanced and therefore to go online with them you need to use WEP security on your router.
