At the current price of $350 No online features and alittle to no games at launch ? The 3DS has dropped off my want list.I mightwait till next year when the PsP2 is out and see if they announce a 3DS slim or Redesign then i might buy one. At the moment its honestly not worth my time or money, thanks for region locking nintendo.

Still purchasing one.

I would consider buying one in a few months once more games came out if it wasnt for the region locking, gaming is expensive these days and i cant handle the Australian prices.

Depending on your area, you will probably find quite a few people on street pass. The dificult part will be finding peeps with your game. At least we can save our street pass data to our system!

considering the popularity of the DS on the campus i study at, i wouldn't be so sure. plus, i'm more interested in spotpass, which is connected to streetpass.

$350 does seem a little absurd considering the Aussie dollar is stronger than the US, even with distribution, taxes and the rest of it. But at least we are not waiting months for the release like we usually do games and consoles

SpotPass -- the feature that automatically searches for Wifi hotspots and connects to Nintendo's servers -- won't be activated until later this year. StreetPass will work from day one.

Even the most optimistic estimates point towards chinas economy only being 40% bigger than USA's by 2050, and India being around half it's size.

Considering that both the USA and USSR were counted as superpowers though our economy was consistantly over twice as big.. we ain't gunna lose that title anytime soon Mr.

Import. Even with shipping importing is far cheaper. Please show Nintendo of Australia they cannot keep screwing us over prices, NZ too, import the US version, and all your games.

That's not true, any densely populated area(a city pretty much) would suffice, the problem with the DS was the convoluted system where you had to have it set for each specific game and hope you passed someone who did the same. Basically if there wasn't a flavor of the month game using the feature, you were playing roulette with the feature. Now that it doesn't work that anymore, you simply have to activate it and it works for all games simultaneously, people should get more use out of it.

Canadas dollar used to be .65/1 american dollar. Now its 1.04/1 and everything still cost much more here. Cars are thousands more expensive for example.

Probably because a lot of companies depend on the large population of American consumers, and if they raise the prices here people will stop buying. It's also related to supply and demand. High supply plus high demand equals lower cost.

Doesn't region locking basically just mean that you cant play australian games on a US system ect., why cant you just import the games as well? Not only would it more than likely be cheaper, you would also get games sooner, and with less censorship

I don't see Street Pass being big in anywhere but Japan. 350 sounds about right in Australia, what with everything being more expensive there. I know the 3DS won't have a very good launch line up, but oddly enough, nintendogs + cats and Pilotwings Resort is all I need.

yeah $450 here in New Zealand and I dont think that includes a bundled game, add on another $80-100. I'll wait for a while, if it dosnt come down in price I'll buy myself a new Gpu instead. Also I hate it when all features are not ready from the go, getting a gimped system for no aparant reason for most of the year really frustrates me,.
