I think they should switch the anolog and arrow pad with each other. As you can see on the 3DS the arrow pad is all the way down there. It's going to be so akward playing normal DS games with it like that.
I think you would have a harder time with analog stick at the bottom than the Dpad. The Dpad is in a similar spot to where it was on the cube controller, but bigger. Since the DS is square, it could be uncomfortable trying to make fine movements with the analog stick, as opposed to the more simple input of a Dpad. Basically like on the cube, when I used the Dpad, I would just adjust my left hand a little lower on the controller, but I could relax my hand since Dpads aren't pressure sensitive or anything.
but the 3DS is made for 3DS games, which means the analog will be the standard. you don't make your design worse for your own generation because you're worried about BC. plus, who said you won't be able to use the analog to control?
