From IGN:

http://ds.ign.com/articles/115/1152998p1.html

Very cool news IMO. Netflix streaming is pretty nice, it'd be great if they supported 3D movies. You'll even be able to start watching on the 3DS and switch to the Wii (for example, start watching a movie while away from home, continue it on the Wii when you get home). Streaming video on the go ftw. I'm assuming (hoping) this would be included in the regular Netflix streaming monthly price, which is only like 8 bucks.

I'm pretty sure Iwata said it would have 3D movies instant streaming too, incase anyone was wondering

It will be a free app, but of course you'll need to pay for netflix

i wonder if netflix would accept my not-american credit card. nintendo does and so does steam. on the other hand, sony denies me access to the PSN just because of where i live. and i hope you can download the movies, i have far more comfortable places to watch movies than the wi-fi areas and the "internet room" at home :P

I simply knew that this was going to happen. Its awesome btw. Its nice seeing that the 3DS is giving potential users more of a reason to buy it. I wonder how the tv show streaming is coming along, I guessif itis going to happen we will hear about it at E3.

Oh I cant wait!

I'm pretty sure Netflix doesn't currently stream any 3D movies (such as for PS3 or 3D PCs), hopefully that will start to change with the 3DS.

For the most part I'm sure I'll be using my Xbox and PC as always to stream from Netflix, but it'll be cool to have movies on the go, and if they start streaming 3D movies I'll definitely be interested. Most people don't have a way of viewing 3D movies from home.

You can't download the movies. Netflix Instant Stream never has, and never will let you download them, only streaming.

Otherwise, people would find ways to steal them, when in actuality you don't own it, you just have the right to stream it as long as you pay $10 a month

8 bucks I believe it is. And I agree, they probably won't let us download them. Something like downloading it and getting an 8 hour temp-license or something would be cool... but I doubt it'll happen. You can always use mobile hotspots though.

Saw this earlier, it comes as no surprise at Netflix will be streaming on Calculators and somehow non digital watches someday lol. It would be interested if they took this as an opportunity to dive into streaming 3D movies, Its kind of pointless now, given the few 3DTV's out there, but everyone who has a 3DS obviously has a 3D screen, that will greatly increase the numbers.

Mmm, what's the difference? :P The website only said "valid" US address. I don't know if they will ship you something.

Woah. Sounds pretty cool. It would get even better if they bring in a whole lot of 3D movie libraries. But so far - Nintendo 3DS seems to be looking better and better.

They don't stream 3D movies so far, and the press release said nothing about 3D movies specifically.

As convenient and positive this may be, I believe what David Lynch says on phones applys to this, even if the 3DS does have a very nice screen :). He basically says that you cannot truely experience a film on a portable device such as a phone or a device with a similar size screen, and tells people who think they have experienced it through this medium to "get real". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKiIroiCvZ0

I'd be more likely to use it for TV shows than movies, personally, because I agree, most movies (pretty much any movie that has a decent amount of action) is going to suck on such a small screen. Sitcoms and stuff though (or even non-action oriented movies), don't see a problem watching them on a small screen if I'm away from home and bored.

I don't think Netflix sends any of that stuff. The only thing they send is the movies or sometimes they say thanks for being an customer and they send you something to get your friends free trial.

i'd still need a credit card matching the address, which is where friends come in :P i mean, even if that wasn't a problem, better to ship free stuff to my friends than to a random pizza hut in NY :P

David Lynch can suck my left. I watch movies on my iPod Touch and Xperia X10 all the time. The screens are big enough and I never feel like i'm missing anything. I would gladly use Netflix on the 3DS.

I don't know why everyone thinks there will be 3D Netflix movies. Iwata never said anything like that, and Netflix doesn't stream 3D. If they ever did you would surely have to pay an extra fee.
